Season 1 Episode 12

The Tale of the Prom Queen

Aired Saturday 8:00 PM Nov 07, 1992 on Nickelodeon

  • Trivia

    • This story is told by Kristen.

    • Kristen arrives to the campfire in a Prom queen outfit to set a theme.

    • For some reason, Kristen tells the opening line in a southern accent. She speaks normally for the rest of the episode.

    • The newspaper in which the car accident is found is dated as a Saturday issue. Since most proms are on Saturday, the newspaper should have been dated as a Sunday issue.

    • During the scene at the Milkshake Stand, the man with the beard is standing in line in one shot, and sitting behind the main characters in the next shot.

    • Look hard: When David says " She'll be here.  She's got a great story."  He is holding his book up near his chest and by its sides.  But in the next scene, he is holding his book down and by its spine.

  • Quotes

    • Kristen: (Story intro) My tale is one of woe. It has been told around many campfires, and I'm here to tell the one true version. Submitted for the approval of The Midnight Society, I call this story... The Tale of the Prom Queen.

    • Kristen: (Opening line) She stood over the grave holding a bouquet of wildflowers, as if taking a moment for silent prayer...

    • Kristen: The next day, they checked the cemetary records. They found the name Judy Larson.
Gary: The grave they were looking for.
      Kristen: Yes, the grave.

    • Jam: No no, Let me tell it. I tell it best.

    • Judy: Maybe he's not so crazy after all.

    • Judy: We are trying to contact the spirit of Ricky Mitchell. Ricky Mitchell. Do you hear us, Ricky?

    • Greg: What happened?!
Jam: I dunno, maybe he ran out of gas.

    • Judy: I knew you'd be the ones from the moment I saw. See, I couldn't leave the cemetary unless someone brought me with them. And you solved the mystery of why Ricky never picked me up and got him to come.
