  • Library haunted by an old librarian with a box full of captured voices- cue the budding romance!

    8.4
Watching it now, it's not that scary.

But, lets imagine that we're 9. A cold, dark Saturday night. Nick is on. Even better, Are you afraid of the dark is on. And Kiki's telling the story.

Yeah, Kiki! "Take away sound, you take away life."

And with those chilling words, our story opens.

What ensues is the tale of a young girl and her school partner being drawn into the dark library's even darker secrets. The acting is perfect, and the characters really feel like people. Not any old teens, real kids. The old lady is creepy too, wandering around with her box of voices.

And what if you couldn't shout? Couldn't scream? Mad dashes, cobwebs and highschool romance galore!

Oh, and look at that. We're no longer nine again. Some old hag with a box isn't really scary any more.

But for a moment in time, it scared the hell out of you!moreless

  • QUOTES (2)

    • (Story Intro)
Kiki: But, what if there could be total silence? What if you could stop every sound? Every buzz? Every breath?
Gary: You couldn't. Where there's life, there's sound.
Kiki: Say that another way. You take away sound, you take away... Life! Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this story... The Tale Of The Quiet Librarian.

    • Tucker (Being beaten up by Frank) Yeah... This is real fair. You're only 200 pounds heavier than me!

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • The Shining:
In the beginning when the little boy is bouncing his ball alone in a large hallway, it is eerily simlar to the 1980 horror film classic The Shining, directed by Stanley Kubrick.
