    Yawn!

    That's right...yawn.

AYAOTD should have revelled in its own history...combined some real classics and given us a real chill fest. Instead we get a half-hearted attempt at scariness, something whivh faisl to campture.

The grandfather death that kicks it off as contrived and played with little convintion. Or to put in laymans terms, was unoriginal and felt poorly thought out. Gary and Tucker do well, although treat their grandfathers death as though their favourite hamster has just snuffed it.

The story involves The General, a man who is Really Mean and Strange ...and boring as hell. There's a little kid and moving knights that are about as scary as somebody shouting "BOO!" at you.

Basically, this story could have been so much better. To be fair, its atmospheric here and there and it does have an interesting story to tell. But at this stage, that story could have been told so much better.
  • Fun, but silly.

This is actually a big, three-part Are You Afraid of the Dark. movie. At the time of its release, it was a pretty big deal.

Storyline: After the death of his grandfather, Gary recieves a mysterious note, and a piece of an old record. After reading the last story his grandfather wrote, Gary returns to the midnight society, enlisting their help in tracking down the 5 original members, and stopping an evil force.

This episode goes back and forth between silly and genuinely creepy. The premise, and the seriousness of the charactors made me giggle....but there isss a creepy little demon boy, who gave me chills. Enjoy!
