Mr Grace: What?
Secretary: Pinching my bottom?
Mr Grace: Sounds like me, yes.

This was the first time John Inman portrayed Annie Humphries, Wilberforce's mother. Inman was not credited for the extra role (which would not be the case in May 1981 and the episode Heir Apparent.
It is mentioned a few times throughout the show that the British versions of "This Is Your Life" would often end with an appearance by Danny LaRue. LaRue (Daniel Patrick Carroll) was a successful female impersonator. The irony here is that the episode ends with John Inman in drag, playing his usual character's mother.
There is also a British version of "This is Your Life" which has aired off and on in the UK since 1955 on both the BBC and ITV.
The theme of this episode is an allusion to the TV series titled, This Is Your Life. It was hosted by Ralph Edwards and ran from 1952 to 1961. It started as a radio show, which was aired from 1948 to 1952 on NBC Radio.
