This episode is largely a rethread of an episode from season five. Instead of Mr Grainger, Mrs Slocombe gets to become the manager of the Ladies and Gentlemen Departments, and her behaviour is very similar to that of the old, male sales assistant. If this episode works at all, it's because of the performance by Mollie Sugden. The peculiar relationship of Mrs Slocombe and Mr Humphries gets some extra attention as well, but overall this feels like warmed up material. The sudden success of Miss Brahms could have been used for more comedic purposes and perhaps Mrs Slocombe could finally have taken some revenge on the insolent Mr Lucas. A missed opportunity.
