  • A bit dull, Lackluster, Cliffhanger

I'm going to try to be more to the point with my review of this episode. I'm getting tired of the Frank-Getti-Denise triangle. I just think it was too soon in Denise's 'career' to have her careening down the highway of adultry. Trevor slowly getting into drugs, eh ... becomes Joans chauffer, eh ... at least he'll be on post and we won't have to worry about Roxy freaking out for a bit. Oh, and I love that Roxy is getting her GED ... that's a GOOD and positive storyline. YAYI have loved Pamela's radio show story line for a while now, and I continue to love it. I liked the other little side-line stories that popped up, Emmalin's teenaged heartbreak, Chase just kind of hanging out with the family, Getti leaving, Frank coming home, Jeremy and the drug bust, etc etc. Finally, we end on Getti coming back to the hospital on a gurney, and Joan coming in with a possible miscarriage. Now ... that's some drama. So now I feel the last episode and this one have filled us in properly and we can finally start liking our show again.moreless
  • Another brilliant episode with an even better cliffhanger at the end.

    9.5
This episode opens with Denise thinking about her kiss with Getty; Claudia Joy calls round after hearing that she is off work sick. Denise tells her what happened. Trevor is still working hard on getting his shoulder better. Until then he has to work for Joan Burton. Drugs are being sold in the school and they try to find out who is selling them. We then see that one of the men arrested selling the drugs is Jeremy, Denise's son. He claims the drugs aren't his and he has no idea how they got there. Pamela has an interview which is printed in one of the papers. Emmalyn has a new boyfriend and he is called round for dinner with the family. Getty tells Denise that he is leaving in a week. Emmalyn sees her boyfriend with another girl. Denise calls Frank to tell him about Jeremy being arrested.

Trevor prepares a meal for Roxy but realises that he can't cook. Luckily Claudia Joy and Roland have made reinforcements for him. We learn that Emmalyn's boyfriend was talking to an old friend, and they are now officially an item which makes Emmalyn very happy. Roxy is doing a night course to get her GED. As Denise is on the phone, when Jeremy walks into the house and tells her that the charges were dropped and that everything will be alright. One of his roommates was the one selling the drugs. When Roxy returns home she is greeted by a romantic setting with a meal prepared for her. As Denise prepares to go and meet Getty for one final drink, she gets a phone call from Fran telling that he is coming home the next day. As Getty sits there waiting for her, she sends him a message and tells him that she can't make it. During an anti-natal class, Joan feels a pain and suddenly there is a lot of blood. We then see that Getty has been hit and is rushed into the ER. Denise breaks down in tears as they try to save his life.moreless
  • Great cliffhanger! Can't wait for more now.

    8.8
I really really liked this episode. But there were also a few things i didn't like that much. But don't get me wrong, all in all it was great and i won't stop watching Army Wives because of a few minor things.

Pamela and Roxy's subplots were great. I really appreciate that Trevor isn't acting like a total jerk all the time anymore. Even thought that 'I wanna deploy again as soon as possible' storyline becomes kinda boring. Is that all the man thinks about? Well, at least he is taking care of his wife and kids again. Chase pretty much leaves and comes back every other episode (which is something i'm not complaining about, i'm just pointing it out! It's something i noticed)

The Holden's are a little more in the background and there isn't much i can say about them (at least not in this episode)

As for Joan and Roland,i can't wait for the baby to come! I just hope that she (the baby) is okay, because Joan was bleeding in the end of the episode. Since she became pregnant we get to see Joan as a person, not just a Colonel Burton and i really enjoy that.

But, now lets get to the thing that pisses me off!! I enjoyed the whole storyline with Denise and Getty. Getty is a character i just couldn't help but fall in love with. There was a great connection between him and Denise. I was pretty much dissapointed when he said he would move away. I at least wanted him and Denise to get a cup of coffee together before he goes. But no, Frank managed to ruin that as well!! Frank is such a control freak!! He has no redeeming qualities to me, like Michael, Chase and Trevor who can all be jerks as well. If i was Denise i would have left Frank and went with Getty. It's not like she's still depending on Frank.

And it's not just like they are making him 'move' (if he moved, he could always show up again later on!). It really looks like they are killing him off to make Denise feel guilty. Didn't we just have a similar storyline when Amanda died??? Is Army wives gonna become a show who kills off characters all the time now?? I just hope that Getty (and the baby!) live!!!!!moreless
