Hail and Farewell ~ Another excellent episode from Army Wives. The Jeremy/Amanda relationship is blossoming, although, how long it can last if he's enlisting is anyone's guess. I find that Roxy is a little hard on her mother, but I suppose when you learn at an early age that a person isn't reliable, it takes more than hugs and kisses to learn to trust again. In addition, as we find out in the end, Marta is up to something and we'll see that come back at some point.

I just love the way the Holden's make plans that seem to always fall through at the last moment, it seems so un-army-like, but it's fun nonetheless. I think it'll be nice for Claudia Joy and Amanda to bond.

I have to shake my head at Frank. I know the guy is trying to protect his wife, but I'm sorry to simply pretend like you have no son is no way to fix a problem, another very un-army-like resolution here. And Denise, telling Jeremy she'll get him out of enlistment was a bit asinine, as she IS an Army Wife. Hmmm, it's all very suspect. I have to admit, the back and forth between Claudia Joy and Denise during this episode was really well done.

Finally Roxy's party. That was fun, and the 'I'm Pissed' game was excellent. I really enjoyed that part of the show, it really shows what comradarie these women have even in the face of adversity. Double thumbs up.
  • In this episode Roxy’s mother is planning her a birthday party, starts drinking again and leaves but not before giving Roxy a gift. Jeremy has enlisted much to the dismay of Amanda and his mother. Rolland is having a hard time dealing with some issues.

Okay so I thought this was a really good episode. I have to say though one thing that really bothered me was like when Frank was talking to the soldiers dad, for example, there were like leaves in front of the camera at times; and when Rolland was talking to the other doctor about leaving the hospital the cameraman kept shooting from behind things and it just really bothered me because it happened in quite a few scenes. So anyways back to the episode, I felt really bad for Roxy because I kind of felt like she was starting to trust her mother a little bit even though she knew in her heart that she was going to screw up. I also feel bad for Denise; I mean having to watch your husband disown your son has got to be hard. Hopefully after talking to the one soldiers dad Frank will realize that he needs to talk to Jeremy. Jeremy enlisting was soooo dumb, I mean if he didn’t want to stay there he could have just gone away to college or something, because he made it very clear in earlier episodes that he did not want to be in the army. Not to sound insensitive but Rolland always dealing with some sort of drama is getting old, I mean can’t the guy be happy for once? I could not believe that Claudia Joy said that it was “for the best” to Denise, if I were Denise I would have slapped her right in the face. I also feel bad for Michael because he is only trying to protect his daughter. All in all I thought this was a really good episode and the previews for next week look really good. (i.e. Pamela having an affair omg!!!!)
  • An episode that reached a depth that maybe all might not understand, family anguish through trials of life.

This episode was quite revealing in how the family way of life could change between relationships forever due to physical or mental actions by family members that were unforeseen or were always seen. Just like this episode where some lessons are harder to learn then others and some lessons are just plain taught the hard way, that is the way true life is. Tonight's show, as always dealt with real life issues that people face every day. "Army Wives" since the beginning has intrigued me just because of this fact. This show is not a drama that demonstrates to us the fake drama of a soap opera, nor does it even give us the false pretense of reality, like reality shows do. This show hits all areas of real people with real issues just like everyday reality we face in and outside our doors every single day of our life.
  • Top notch cast delivers once again!

Michael & Claudia Joy are very concerned about Jeremy and his behavior with his mom. And how it might get much worse as they talk to Amanda about it. I would be really worried about Jeremy trying to hurt his mom or even worse. Meanwhile, it is Roxy's birthday. And her interferring mom wants to throw her birthday party as she goes to Pamela for help. Top-notced writing and cast!
