This episode, especially Claudia Joy's Independence Day speech, touched me and of course I started tearing up. I think my favorite line in the whole thing was, "Look beside each solier and you will find the people who fight with them. The spouses, the sons, the daughters, the families; We serve too. Their victories are our victories, their defeats are our defeats. Together we fight for freedom".
She couldn't said it better. People fail to realize that our soldiers aren't the only one making a sacrifice, their families sacrifice so many things too like living a 'normal' civilian life, months and years of time with our loved one. I'm an Army Wife myself and this episode was something I could definetly relate too.moreless

I keep saying the same things in my reviews. But it's really extraordinary how wonderful this show continues to be. It was lovely to see another character brought to the forefront with Marilyn getting the spotlight this week. Roxy's witticisms continue to be startling and spectacular. I am really enjoying the development of the characters. In the beginning, it seems like Pamela and Chase are destined for a break-up, however, going forward, you see that they really do have a strong relationship despite their problems. I really enjoyed the way that Denise and Jeremy have mended their fences. Although it seems that Jeremy will still have a penchant for causing or getting into trouble. I was also a bit concerned about Joan and Rolands storyline in the beginning, but that seems to be filling out as well. Claudia Joy's speech at the end of the picnic was stunning and very well played. Again, I just keep looking forward to more and more of this!moreless

We are learning more about the wives and their lives. As their lives never, ever get mentioned in REAL life. Marilyn, whom I think is so nosey, meddling in Pamela's affairs, finally has a secret of her own. Roxy learns that Marilyn is in an affair. While the ladies have a July 4th party only to have it ruined by some bad news. Wives face everyday drama not knowing when their spouses will return alive or dead.moreless

Watching this episode of Army Wives brough joy as well as tears to my face. Being a military spouse I go through the emotions that everyone of those women(charactors) went through. Scard to see you husband leave, worried if he will ever come home and see your children grow and proud to part of a wonderful group of woman and men that Lifetime has chosen to highlight. I am proud to serve along side my husband in this time in our countries history.moreless
