  • Roland's mother comes to stay.......

    8.5

In this episode of Army Wives, the following happens. Roland's mother arrives for a visit and to see her granddaughter for the very first time. Claudia Joy accidentally lets slip to her Husband about what happened between Denise, Getty & Frank. Pamela's husband returns home and she tells him about her stalker. We learn that Emmalyn has an army pen pal, who is serving in Iraq. His named is Logan. When Michael bumps into Denise, he can't even look at her after learning about her kiss with another man. Denise opens up her very own first chequing bank account.

The FRG decide to do a calendar to try and raise money. Roland admits to his wife that he used to be embossed by his mother and the job that she did (she worked in his schools kitchen). Denise takes Claudia Joy with her when she goes to get a tattoo.

This was a really terrific episode. I just thought Roland's mother was brilliant. The program really showed how difficult it is to shed resentment and such between family members. I also enjoyed the way they're showing Joan in a much softer light. I'm really enjoying these characters much more now. In Trevor and Roxy's storyline, I thought the show did an excellent job showing their sharing with their groups. In addition they did a fantastic job with Roxy's reluctance to get herself help. Great work on all accounts.I still can't decide whether I like where Denise's character is going, but I'll keep up with it, because wherever she ends up ... It'll be interesting.Pamela and Chase are by far the most fascinating study of normalcy on this program. I love it!!!Finally, CJ and her dislike of the 'new girl' was fantastic. I don't really like the new girl much myself. This is what the show is about, Humor as well as Drama. The writers and characters did both very well this week. Can't wait till next week.
  • Things Change

I think one of the things that stuck out within this episode was everyone making adjustments and changes. Some good. Some not so good. Claudia joy spilling a secret she didn't mean to, lead to supporting Denise but keeping in mind Michael's feelings. Then you having Michael having made up his mind with only really seeing Frank's point of view and not considering Claudia Joy's. Roland and Joan are adjusting to Sarah but also Roland's visiting mom. Trevor has started dealing with his addiction issues, but Roxy needs to start dealing with hers. Pam and Chase deal with her stalker. Then finally there is Denise, wanting to make changes, some subtle some not. She's still in limbo but trying to move in a positive direction.
