This was a pretty special episode. It's always lovely when the episode show's how everyone helps everyone else out on base. This was no exception with Emmalin's friend's mother. CJ went out of her way to get the family the help they needed so that they could stay together.I'm really happy that the storyline didn't have Pamela doing a radio program in Atlanta, I think it would have just ruined the flow. It would have been interesting to see the struggle though, with life outside of the base and the differences in relationships. However, I think it would have just made the show clumsy and cluttered. I continue to adore Roxy and her quick quips. I also enjoy how crabby Betty is. It injects some humor into an otherwise bland situation. I'm NOT enjoying the way Denise is getting close to Getty. We'll see what we see there. Another great installment. I'm enjoying all of the different storylines and how things are coming together. I'm uncertain how I feel about Trevor's slow but sure spiralling descent ... Another thing we'll just have to see what happens on. Excellent episode all around.moreless
  • Emmalyn gets in trouble & we say goodbye to Betty

    9.3
This episode opens with Emmalyn and her friend leaving a shop (the PX) on post and being stopped by security and then finding stolen items in her friends bag. They are both handcuff and led off. Emmalyn wasn't involved, but the police took her home. She tells Claudia Joy that she is stuck in jail as her mother is out training. She gets there her mother has turned up. We learn that her husband is in Iraq and will be there for 8 more months. This isn't the first time she has been caught stealing and lashing out. Pamela is offered her own show at a national radio station. Roxy has to meet with the contractor on the work for the hump bar. Pamela show gets cut off the air due to the conversation with Claudia Joy over mothers in action. The contractor tries to screw Roxy out of money and she fires him, but quickly manages to get a replacement. Pamela gets to see Joan about the radio being pulled. We learn that Joan's replacement pulled the plug on the radio show. Pamela quits the radio station. Joan seems pissed that she didn't know about it being pulled and that she wasn't informed. Pamela goes home and rings the man who came to see her earlier and accepts the offer. Betty tells Roxy that her chemo isn't working and that she doesn't have the energy to continue with the bar. She then tells Roxy that she now owns half of the bar. Roland goes to the hospital and bonds with new born baby so that when their fathers return from war they are better prepared. It also helps him to prepare for the birth of his own child. Betty buys herself a convertible car. She tells Roxy that she is leaving and that she isn't coming back. She then gets into her car and drives off as Roxy stands there in tears. Sarah's mother goes to thank Claudia Joy for her letter of support, for her not having to go to the war for another 6 months. Pamela goes back to her radio show, after loads of female callers call in wanting her back on the air.moreless
