Episode Recap

This episode opens with Brigadier General Michael Holden introducing Lieutenant Colonel Joan Burton to General Hugh and Victoria Grayson. Lieutenant Colonel Burton introduces her husband, Roland. Claudia Joy Holden tells the Graysons Roland is a leading expert on Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Victoria Grayson says she had just read an article on Roland in "National Dispatch". Mrs. Grayson reminds General Grayson she had shown him the article. General Grayson compliments Roland on his excellent work.

Major Frank and Denise Sherwood are talking a short distance away. Victoria Grayson is pointing out Major Sherwood to General Grayson. She tells him Frank was rescued from the downed Black Hawk in Iraq. She also tells him the Sherwood's son is in basic training at Fort Benning. As the Graysons meet up with the Sherwoods, General Grayson tells Frank he is glad to have him back home. The General asks how Jeremy is doing in basic at Fort Benning. From the look on his face, it is clear Frank is very surprised General Grayson knows about Jeremy. General Grayson asks what Jeremy's specialty is. Denise answers, "Infantry, Sir. 11 Bravo." General Grayson says, "Chip off the ol' block, huh, Major?" Frank puffs his chest out with pride and replies, "Yes, Sir."

Across the room, Claudia Joy is asking Michael why the Graysons are there. She comments on the fact that there hasn't been a visit like that in years. Michael tells her it's allegedly a routine visit. He agrees with her that the timing seems odd – especially with General Baker ill.

Lenore Baker comes around a corner and spots the Graysons. She greets the General and tells him she hopes he's saving room for pralines. Victoria Grayson asks Lenore how she knows pralines are the General's favorite. Lenore replies, "A general's wife has to have her sources, doesn't she?" Victoria agrees completely. General Grayson tells Lenore he appreciates her thoughtfulness, but his waistline will not. He excuses himself and walks away.

Lenore apologizes to Victoria for General Baker's absence. Lenore claims it's her fault. She says the General wanted to leave the hospital, but Lenore insisted he remain – in accordance with doctor's orders. Victoria tells Lenore they are looking forward to seeing General Baker the next day. Victoria says to give General Baker their best, and then walks away. Lenore watches jealously as Victoria Grayson walks over to where General Grayson and Michael Holden are talking. She sees Michael Holden telling Victoria Grayson that Claudia Joy has a few things lined up for her.

At the hospital, Lenore is shaving General Baker's face. When she nicks him, he tries to wiggle away. Lenore acts like she's talking to a child and tells him to sit still. General Baker asks Lenore if the shave couldn't wait until the next day. Lenore tells him no and General Grayson could stop by at any minute and needs to be prepared. Lenore stops shaving, lowers the razor, looks up at General Baker's head, and asks when he last washed his hair. He replies, "Just before I had brain surgery." Lenore tells him he could at least use a comb. General Baker starts to say something, but Lenore talks over him. She tells him they've worked too long and hard to get the post and says they are not going to let it slip through their fingers. Lenore says Michael Holden was 'working' General Grayson. She tells General Baker she'll do her part to win over Victoria Grayson, but he needs to do his part with General Grayson. She wants General Baker to claim his aneurism is only a minor setback, he's ready to go back to work and is better than ever. Lenore starts to wipe the shaving cream off General Baker's face, when he takes the washcloth from her to finish it himself. He says, "I'm tired, Lenny." Lenore says he'll feel better in the morning. He clarifies his previous statement. He says he's tired of it all – the Army. He tells her sometimes he thinks he just doesn't give a damn anymore. Based on the look on Lenore's face, the General's last statement does not set well with her.

Marilyn Polarski is in her housecoat with a clay mask on and ironing. The phone rings. She answers, "Sergeant Polarski's residence." Lenore Baker is on the other end. Marilyn practically comes to attention when Lenore identifies herself. Lenore tells Marilyn she received more dirt from her Ivy League Friend regarding Claudia Joy Holden. Marilyn tells Lenore she's 'all ears.'

The next morning, Angie and Marilyn are power walking. Marilyn says Claudia Joy didn't kill the pedestrian because she was tired. Angie thought that Claudia Joy was studying late and got in the car. Marilyn says that's what Claudia Joy wants everyone to think. Marilyn tells Angie that Claudia Joy wasn't alone in the car – there was a man in her car. Angie asks Marilyn if she's joking. Marilyn says Claudia Joy did not have both hands on the wheel. Angie gets a shocked look on her face and almost stops walking!

Joan and Roland have just finished a morning run. Joan is telling Roland the Rumor Mill has it that General Grayson isn't on post for a routine inspection. She says it's possible the Army is actually going to replace General Baker. Roland tells Joan it's almost like kicking a man when he's already down. Allegedly, this was in the works before General Baker's aneurism. Joan doesn't think the post's combat readiness is where it needs to be and that there is room for improvement. Roland says Michael Holden was unfairly passed over this last time. Roland thinks it's a way to 'right things.' Roland realizes it would mean Joan is in the running for the Deputy Commander position. The possibility does not really please him. Joan knows this and asks him how he feels about it. Roland tells her they've been talking about starting a family and he thought her current assignment was only temporary. Joan is excited. For her, it's like a dream opportunity. She feels like she owes Michael Holden her career because he had gone to the mat for her. Joan tells Roland he's the most important thing in her life and she wants him to be ok with everything. Roland says he can't be upset since the Army is recognizing his wife's talents.

Angie and another woman are coming out of the PX. Angie is telling her Claudia Joy's father is some big-shot judge in Philadelphia and paid a lot of hush money to cover the accident up. Then, Angie asks her friend if she has ever noticed that Amanda Holden 'looks nothing like her father."

Pamela is in the PX parking lot, turn signal on, waiting for a parking spot that is about to be vacant. As soon as the other vehicle leaves, an orange VW Bus pulls into it. Pamela says, "Oh no you don't!" She slams her minivan into park and gets out. The owner of the VW Bus is getting out at the same time. Pamela stomps over to the owner and confronts him. She calls him 'Gilligan' and tells him that he just pulled into HER parking lot. He claims he didn't see her. She doesn't believe him. Someone starts honking a horn telling her to move her car. She hollers at him, telling him to "give it a rest." Pamela tells 'Gilligan' her turn signal was on and she was waiting. 'Gilligan' mistakenly asks her why it's a big deal. She gets in his face and says, "It's disaster number ten on my list of things today and it isn't even noon, yet!" She starts rattling off her list – broken water heater, missing cell phone, she needs five bags of flour so her kids can make a papier-mâché horsie which she knows is going to be a 'frickin' nightmare for her. She asks him if he's going to move his car or did he want to stand there and do the hula all day. He asks Pamela for her name. She gets disgusted (because she thinks he's coming on to her) and stomps off back to her van. Another horn begins to blow. Pamela hollers, "Yeah, nice horn! What else you get for Christmas?" She gets into her vehicle, slams the door and drives off.

Lenore Baker and Victoria Grayson are walking in the flower garden. Lenore tells Mrs. Grayson it's her pride and joy. Victoria compliments her, telling her it's inspiring. Victoria is impressed by how much Lenore has accomplished in such a short time. Lenore toots her own horn telling Victoria the design was entirely hers, but she did have help with the planting. Victoria compliments Lenore on her many talents. Victoria admits that when it comes to gardening, she's lousy. Lenore claims it's General Baker's influence. She says he wants everything on post to shine to perfection – including her nails. Victoria asks Lenore how Michael Holden is performing in General Baker's absence. Victoria tells Lenore it'll be "just between us girls." Lenore claims Michael Holden has been performing "perfectly adequate." She changes "perfectly adequate" to "competent". As Roxy drives by, she notices Lenore Baker and Victoria Grayson walking together. Victoria asks if General Baker feels the same way. Lenore says her husband isn't a complainer and he doesn't nitpick about certain standards that may be slipping. Next, Victoria wants to know Lenore's take on Claudia Joy. Victoria tells Lenore that Claudia Joy seems lovely. Lenore says she's a 'peach' and one shouldn't believe what the Rumor Mill says about her. Victoria claims she hasn't heard anything and prods Lenore to "spill the dirt." Lenore acts remorseful, saying she probably shouldn't have said anything. Lenore claims nothing has been substantiated and people should not be held accountable for things that happened when they were young.

Claudia Joy is at the Hump Bar. Denise, Pamela and Roxy are already at the bar. Pamela says she's glad Claudia Joy could make it. Roxy pours some whisky and sets it in front of Claudia Joy telling her she is going to need it. Claudia Joy realizes that whatever she is about to hear has Lenore Baker's handprint all over it. Denise reminds Claudia Joy that she knew it was going to get bad. Claudia Joy wonders just how bad. Roxy says, "Bad." Denise tells Claudia Joy the gossipmongers have struck again. Pamela says she heard it at the PX and Denise says she heard it at the hospital. Pamela tries to prepare Claudia Joy for this latest onslaught by telling her they all know how rumors can grow. Roxy says they all know "Lenore Baker is full of fertilizer." Claudia Joy becomes impatient and tells them to just tell her. Pamela says, "The way I heard it was you were riding side-saddle with your law professor when you hit the student with your car." Denise assures Claudia Joy they know the truth. Roxy says they all know it was Lenore Baker. Roxy tells them she saw Lenore kissing up to some important-looking blonde woman. Claudia Joy supplies Victoria Grayson's name. Roxy says, "She was all over her like fleas on a hound." Denise says it is obvious Lenore is trying to undermine Michael through Claudia Joy to ensure General Baker remains Post Commander. Pamela asks what they are going to do about it. Claudia Joy says she and Michael have decided not to stoop to Lenore's level. Pamela says that her way is to fight fire with fire. As the ladies are talking, Amanda comes into the bar. Claudia Joy turns around, surprised to see her daughter. Claudia Joy asks her why she's at the bar. Amanda tells her the gossipmongers are saying Michael isn't her real father. All the women are speechless!

At the Holden residence, Michael, Claudia Joy, Amanda and Emmalin are in the living room. Claudia Joy and Michael have just explained what the gossip is all about and what the truth is. Michael looks at Amanda and says, "And let there be no doubt – I AM your father." Emmalin wants to know why they weren't told before. Claudia Joy says they wanted to protect them. Michael adds they never thought it would be a factor in the girls' lives. Amanda asks why it's happening now. Michael tells the girls that the higher you go on the food chain, the more envious people become of your position. Amanda is surprised someone is jealous of Claudia Joy. Claudia Joy clarifies it is both Michael and Claudia Joy who are the targets. The girls want to know who is behind it. Amanda says, "It's that Lenore Baker, isn't it?" Michael tells them knowing who is behind it isn't important. He says, "What is important, Amanda, is at times like these, we close ranks as a family." Claudia Joy tells the girls they get their strength to get through the rough times from the love and trust they have with each other. Amanda tells Claudia Joy she believes in her. Emmalin says she does, too. They all embrace in a Holden Family group hug.

Later that evening, Claudia Joy angrily enters their bedroom. Claudia Joy starts ranting to Michael about Lenore Baker. She says it's ok for Lenore to go after her, but it is NOT ok to drag their daughter into it. Michael tells Claudia Joy he hears what she is saying and what Lenore has done is inexcusable. He says they have known what kind of person she is for a long time. Michael tells Claudia Joy she was the one that fired the first shot a few months ago, at General Baker's Promotion Ceremony. She had publicly confronted Lenore. Michael says that Claudia Joy declared war with Lenore Baker and now Lenore is ready to do battle. Michael tells her the whole mess could have been avoided, but Claudia Joy could not resist firing that first round. He says they should have walked away then and they should walk away now.

At the Sherwood home, Denise and Frank are in bed, starting to 'get busy' when the phone rings. Frank answers. He has been told he will be shipping out in one week. The phone call is a mood killer for Denise. She asks Frank, "What about our son?" She feels he needs to see Jeremy before he leaves. She reminds Frank that they are both Army and it is wartime. She asks him if this is how he wants to leave things. Frank lies there letting Denise's words sink in.

Joan and Roland are just getting home from an evening out. Joan is wearing Roland's suit jacket. They're laughing and happy. Roland asks if she wants a nightcap. Joan says she has other things in mind. Roland mentions ice cream and Joan tells him she was thinking whipped cream. Joan takes off Roland's jacket, lays it on the couch and finds a hotel room key card. She slaps it up on her forehead and asks him when he had gone to a hotel. He tells her it was a few weeks back. Joan asks if it was while she was away, then asks if it was a doctors' convention or something or if he was getting a little "something – something" on the side. Roland's whole demeanor changes when she asks the last question. He stands with his head hung low. Joan backs away from him, stunned. He starts to say something, but stops. Joan wants to know who she was. Roland tells her it was the magazine reporter. Joan tells Roland that while she was away getting help, he was at home sleeping with someone else. She asks if he loves her. He immediately lifts his head, looks her in the eyes and says, "No." He tells her it was only one time and that is just happened. Joan is confused and hurt. She wants to know why. Roland tells her it was a mistake. She asks him why, again, after everything they've been through. He sounds like every cliché in the book. Joan has progressed to angry and hurt. She tells Roland to start over and to tell her the truth. He asks her what she wants to know. Joan wants to know if she was pretty or sexy, what was she like in bed – she wants to know everything. Roland doesn't want to go down that road. He tells her it was a mistake. He starts to ask if they could… But, Joan talks over him – pushing for information. Joan tells Roland he cheated on her – he told her he would never cheat or "be that guy." Roland snaps. He says the reporter was bright and funny, she was sexy, they laughed and talked, they had fun because, for once, it wasn't about the Army. It was about Roland. He tells Joan he was flattered. Incredulous, Joan says, "So you slept with her!" Roland says he didn't tell Joan because he didn't want her to carry the pain around. Joan walks out of the room. Roland grabs the hotel card key and his jacket, and then walks out of the house.

Out on the rifle range, Victoria Grayson is tearing up the target with round after round. Claudia Joy is impressed with Victoria's marksmanship. Victoria says she likes to check out the new ordnance. We learn her father and grandfather were both military. She tells Claudia Joy that while other girls were doing the usual girlie stuff, she was learning to assemble a Colt 45 – faster than any man she knew. As they are walking toward Victoria's waiting car, she doesn't beat around the bush and asks Claudia Joy flat out what she thinks of General Baker. Her frank question caught Claudia Joy slightly off-guard. Victoria tells Claudia Joy she has never seen a need to. Claudia Joy suggests that Victoria should ask Michael that question. Mrs. Grayson says, "Oh-ho, My Dear, we wives know where ALL the bodies are buried." She tells Claudia Joy General Grayson is there to determine whether or not Michael should remain in command. Victoria wants to know what kind of job General Baker was doing as Post Commander before he fell ill. Claudia Joy says as far as she can tell, General Baker was doing an exemplary job. Then, Mrs. Grayson goes in for the kill and asks how well Lenore Baker was representing Fort Marshall. Claudia Joy pauses for a moment. She says, "Lenore – is a devoted wife who has given a great deal of herself to this post and to the Army." Victoria seems pleased with her response and tells Claudia Joy she thinks that as well. Before getting into her car, Victoria says, "You know, someone once told me that getting older is like being punished for a crime you didn't commit."

Pamela is coming out of a building carrying a stack of books. General Grayson, Brigadier General Holden, Lieutenant Colonel Burton, Major Casey and General Grayson's Aide are walking toward the building. Pamela walks by the group quickly. Major Casey sees her and stops her. She turns to him. He tells her that he's 'Gilligan'. She's slightly embarrassed. Michael Holden walks up to the two of them. He asks Major Casey if he knows Mrs. Moran. Major Casey tells him they had met the day before. Then, Michael introduces General Grayson to Pamela. He tells the General that Pamela's husband is in Special Ops. General Grayson says, "Best of the best. You must be very proud." General Grayson holds his hand out to shake Pamela's. Pamela has to shuffle some books in order to free up her hand. Major Casey tells General Grayson and Brigadier General Holden he would follow them in a moment or two because he wants to speak to Pamela. Major Casey says he is the new Public Affairs Officer on post. He asks Pamela what she has going on that afternoon. She tells him nothing and that her kids are in camp until 3:oo pm (1500). Major Casey is pleased and hands her a card, telling her to meet him at the address at "1400 hours." Pamela looks up at him questioningly. He says, "Or, do you want to stand here and do the hula?" She agrees and they both go their separate ways.

Frank Sherwood is getting his gear packed and ready for deployment. There's a knock on the door. Amanda Holden is there. She says she was supposed to meet Mrs. Sherwood so they could go for a walk. Frank tells Amanda that Denise called and is running late, but is on her way. He invites Amanda in and offers her a seat. She declines. Frank goes back to his packing. Amanda tells Frank that she brought some pictures of Jeremy to show Denise. She asks if he would like to see them. He pauses, sets what he was folding down, walks over to Amanda and asks, "You – You've been to see him?" She confirms it. As he looks through the pictures, he's overcome with emotion. He's putting the pictures back in the envelope just as Denise arrives home. Denise apologizes to Amanda for being late. Frank avoids eye contact with either woman, hands the pictures back to Amanda and tells them to have a nice walk as he leaves the room.

Pamela arrives at the post radio station. Major Casey compliments her on her timeliness. He suggests that they start over and introduces himself as Major Ned Casey. Pamela tells him her name and then asks where they are. Major Casey asks her if she has ever listened to the post radio. She tells him once. He asks her what she thought of it. She says, "It bored the hell out of me." He agrees. Major Casey tells Pamela he wants to fix it and boost morale. He says he's looking for someone to 'spice up' the airwaves for an hour a day. Pamela is surprised. She doesn't know anything about radio. He says she doesn't need to. He tells her that she knows how to talk – she had proved it at their first encounter. Pamela tells him she was having a bad day. Major Casey tells her that he liked her style and there was no need for her to apologize. He calls her 'Pammie'. She corrects him by saying, "Pamela." Major Casey continues, telling her to read the news in her own voice and put her own twist on it. Pamela asks what the pay is, if there would be childcare or a meal allowance. His answer is no for all three questions. He tells Pamela the Army is on a tight budget. She says, "Let me get this straight. You want me to do you a favor for no pay, no childcare and no meals?" Major Casey throws his arms open and asks, "What do ya say?" Pamela replies, "No thanks!"

Frank is sitting on the couch thinking when Denise gets home. He stands up as she walks in. He tells her that he is going to see Jeremy but can't promise anything. Those words make Denise one very happy woman.

Lenore Baker arrives at the Headquarters Building. She knocks and asks Victoria Grayson if they were still on for tea. Victoria tells her the tea-talk is a "smoke screen" – she was thinking wine instead. Lenore calls her 'wicked'. Victoria replies, "Oh, you don't know the half of it!" Mrs. Grayson receives a text message. She has to go sign for a fax. After she leaves, Lenore starts looking around. She sees an open brief case on the desk. She sees a folder with a note clipped to it. The note says, "Michael, Please reconsider. I could use your support in this. Hugh." Lenore looks around to make sure no one else is around. Unable to resist temptation, she opens the folder. She sees a cover sheet that is stamped "SECRET" in big, fat, red letters. The cover sheet identifies a projected titled "Project Windfall." Lenore steps away just as Victoria Grayson returns.

Pamela and Roxy are watching the kids play in the pool. They are talking about the radio job that Pamela was offered and how she turned it down. Roxy tells Pamela she would be running the show inside of a week. Then, Roxy calls Pamela a chicken. She teases Pamela about being the badass ex-cop who is too chicken to go on the radio. Pamela says she is not chicken and that every time she opens her mouth, she puts another dent in the image of the perfect Army wife!

Angie and Marilyn walk up to Pamela and Roxy. Marilyn has her hair in big, fat rollers. Marilyn tells Pamela she heard about her recent male visitor – a guy named Scott. Pamela says, "Oh you are so not going there!" Marilyn replies, "Honey, I'm not just going there, I'm already there!" Angie pipes in and says she was just cleaning art brushes, not at home having pizza with Scott and the kids. Pamela is starting to get mad. She tells the two busy bodies it is time for them to leave because she is starting to get a rash. Marilyn and Angie leave. As soon as they were out of earshot, Roxy asks, "So, you still think having your own microphone to tell the world off is a bad thing?"

At the radio station, Pamela comes in and catches part of the disc jockey making some announcements. She realizes the radio station is in desperate need of 'spice.' Major Casey is in the radio control room when Pamela arrives. He tells her come in. She enters and tells him that her name is Pamela and NOT Pammie. Pamela says if it works out, she is going to need childcare allowance. Major Casey asks her if there's more. Pamela tells him she will read the news, but she also wants her own show to talk about the day-to-day life of being an Army Wife. Major Casey tells her there are rules. Pamela tells him she understands and she'll stay within the rules. She says every other show is about the soldiers and the wives need their own outlet. Pamela gives him the opportunity to accept or decline the offer. During a brief pause in their conversation, they hear the DJ talking in a monotone voice attempting to be funny, but is so far out of the ballpark that it ends up in outer space! After hearing that, Major Casey accepts her deal.

Major Frank Sherwood is at Fort Benning. Jeremy sees him walk by. He starts dropping his gear. Jeremy's drill instructor tells him to go over to see his father. Jeremy runs over, comes to attention and salutes Frank. Frank returns the salute. Frank says he's been driving for hours trying to figure things out. Jeremy starts to say something, but Frank tells him to not interrupt him. Frank wants to know why he would ever hit his mother. Jeremy says he doesn't know. His answer is not good enough for Frank. Jeremy says he asks himself that question every morning and never gets an answer. He admits Denise did nothing wrong and he was just angry. Frank doesn't know what Jeremy could have to be angry about. Jeremy tells Frank he felt a lot of pressure. Frank says it's not an excuse because everyone feels pressure. If Frank had been there, Jeremy would NEVER have hit Denise. Jeremy agrees. It is then that Frank realizes it happened because of his absences – because he wasn't around "to teach the things a boy learns from his father." Jeremy tells Frank he was a good father and no one is at fault except Jeremy. Frank realizes Jeremy was angry with Frank, but Denise had replaced him as the target. Jeremy says he knows it was wrong. He calls Frank "Sir." Frank tells him to stop calling him "Sir" because he is his father. Frank softens and says, "Carry on, Son." Jeremy salutes. Frank returns the salute, performs an about face, the marches off the field. The look on Frank's face before he leaves reveals he's dealing with some major inner-turmoil. A single tear slides down Jeremy's cheek before he returns to his platoon.

Claudia Joy and Michael are getting dressed for General Grayson's farewell dinner. Claudia Joy is trying to pick out earrings to match her gown. Michael walks up behind her, places his hands on her waist, looks at her through the mirror and apologizes. Claudia Joy tells him that she is sorry, too. Michael says it was unfair to put the entire blame on her. She tells him it was accurate because he had asked her not to talk to Lenore Baker, but she did anyway. Michael tells her that she wouldn't be the woman he had fallen in love with and stayed in love with for 18 years if she hadn't. Claudia Joy says, "Still using that old line, huh?" He asks if it still works. She tells him it does – every time. They kiss and make up.

Joan is in her uniform sitting on the couch staring at the television. Roland comes in. She asks him where he's been and tells him they are going to be late for General Grayson's farewell dinner. Joan asks if he forgot. Roland tells her that he figured that she'd want to go alone. Joan admits she's still angry and hurt, but wants to make their marriage work. She tells Roland to get changed because they would still be able to make it in time. Roland tells Joan he can't pretend everything is ok. He's not sure they can work things out. He says he questioned why he was open to sleeping with someone else. He tells her it's because he's been avoiding the truth – he hasn't been happy for a long time. He's not sure what they have to offer each other. Joan is trying to talk at the same time in a desperate attempt to make him reconsider. Then, Roland stuns her by telling her that he thinks they should separate. Joan says they shouldn't make any hasty decisions. As Joan continues to talk, Roland tells her he's going to stay in a hotel. Joan calls out to Roland, but he just leaves.

At General Grayson's farewell dinner, General Grayson, Michael Holden and Frank Sherwood are talking. Frank is laughing and says, "With all due respect, Sir, I don't think it was me that had the problem." General Grayson tells Frank that he may be right. Michael says, "Uh Frank, he did out rank you. So, I'm pretty certain it was you that had the problem." All three men laugh. Meanwhile, Denise asks Claudia Joy if the 'evil empire' is winning. Claudia Joy tells her Michael seems to think so. Denise tells Claudia Joy that Frank went to see Jeremy, but she wasn't told what had been said. Denise says she thinks they have their family back. Claudia Joy thinks it's wonderful news and is happy for her. Joan is out on the porch alone. Michael comes outside to see if all is well. He asks where Roland is. Joan lies and says Roland isn't feeling well. Back inside, Lenore Baker has spotted General Grayson. She walks over to him and tells him that he can't escape her. General Grayson thanks Lenore for the pralines and tells her they were 'out of this world.' Lenore tells General Grayson she doesn't want to be presumptuous and if General Baker were there, he'd tell General Grayson himself that General Grayson could count on General Baker for support. The General has no clue what she is talking about. Lenore says it's for one of his favorite projects – Project Windfall. General Grayson's eyebrows draw together and he asks her how she knows about Windfall. Lenore winks and tells him she has her ways. General Grayson's demeanor changes and he quickly excuses himself. Lenore attempts to ask if everything is ok, but he has already left. Lenore watches as General Grayson talks to his Aide. The Aide leans over, looks at Lenore, and then returns her attention to the General. Michael and Claudia Joy have observed this, as well. Claudia Joy asks Michael what's going on. He tells her he doesn't know. Two big, burly MPs arrive and ask Lenore to accompany them. One of the MPs relieves her of the champagne flute she was holding. The senior MP asks her, again, to accompany them and tells her that they don't want to have to use force. Lenore has no clue what is going on. Michael goes to find out. Claudia Joy and Denise look at each other with puzzled expressions on their faces.

Lenore Baker is being detained in an interrogation room. A Criminal Investigative Division (C.I.D.) investigator comes into the room. Lenore demands to know what is going on. When that doesn't work, she attempts to bully them into telling her what is going on by saying she's the wife of General Theodore Baker. The C.I.D. investigator asks Lenore to sit down. She refuses. She hollers she is not going to sit down until someone explains why she was humiliated and treated like a common criminal. The C.I.D. investigator asks Lenore how she learned about Project Windfall. She becomes smug and says she doesn't need to tell him. He tells her that she does because her knowledge and open discussion about Project Windfall constitutes a breach of national security. With all the wind taken out of her sails, she quietly drops into a chair.

The next day, a car pulls into Claudia Joy Holden's driveway. Victoria Grayson gets out. Claudia Joy tells Victoria that she thought Victoria had already left. Victoria says she wanted to say good-bye first. She reveals that several years ago, Michael had done a great service while in the field for General Grayson in Kosovo. Claudia Joy says she never knew. Victoria isn't surprised. She tells Claudia Joy she and General Grayson never understood why General Baker was chosen for Fort Marshall over Michael. She says, "But that mistake has been rectified." Claudia Joy asks her to explain. Victoria just let Lenore Baker's worst instincts play themselves out. Claudia Joy asks if she had told Lenore Baker classified information. Victoria is adamant that she did not. She says Lenore had looked at a file that was in General Grayson's briefcase. If Lenore admits it, General Grayson will deny having the file. Claudia Joy is really curious now. Victoria tells her it's because General Grayson didn't. Victoria made the file and put it in the briefcase. She explains what Project Windfall was and says the only reason she knows about it is because General Grayson talks in his sleep. Claudia Joy is speechless! Victoria tells Claudia Joy to take good care of Michael and then leaves.

Pamela is at her new job, On-Air Radio Personality, reading the announcements. When she's finished, she says, "Ok, uh, so much for announcements. Now for a little call-in segment that I'm calling "Have At It With Pamela Moran." Where we talk about us – the Army Wives – and what we go through. Like how it feels to be a single mom even when you're married. Or, better yet, what it's like to be the mistress 'cause the Army is the wife and sometimes that bitch gets all the attention! You know, they say, 'Mission First. People Always.' But that's crap. And what the hell does that mean, anyway? Because the Army comes first - period. And we deal with it or we move on. And it doesn't matter if your spouse wears sergeant's stripes, or, or colonel's eagle. Because worrying about your soldier at wartime feels exactly the same. So, forget rank, 'cause people are just people. And uh, speaking of which - I know we all like to gossip, but come on folks, can we just stop all the lies and innuendos about a certain colonel's wife. I mean, what the hell folks! Did we all lose direction to the high road, or what?"

As Pamela is describing her program, there are shots of Roxy listening in her living room as she plays with her boys; Roland listening in his office; Denise listening while sitting on her couch looking at Jeremy's picture and doing homework; Claudia Joy is listening as she is gardening; Marilyn Polarski is listening in her car, but shuts the radio off when Eddie, her boyfriend, pulls up. She gets out of her car and he gets out of his truck. They were about to embrace, but a car drives by. They wait until it's gone before they kiss.

Pamela gets her first phone call. The caller is Jane and she's eight months pregnant. She says she had gone to the PX on payday.
