Following the tradition from last season, the charity auction is held, where Lucille asks her sons to bid on her, and for the second year in a row, the son, this time Gob, bids on a different Lucille, this time on purpose.

Sally Sitwell and her father are well written characters who will probably be very important in future episodes, which will all hopefully be as funny as this episode with Gob blowing up a car and the CD burning party which many kids got the wrong meaning from.

Overall, this episode is quite funny and a great example of the humorous show that is Arrested Development.moreless

    • Moses Taylor (TV's Frank Wrench) has a gun organization called "Hands Off Our Guns", or H.O.O.G. This is a reference to the pilot episode, where Lindsay held a charity fundraiser for H.O.O.P. (Hands Off Our Penises). Edit
    • During Tobias's scene at the bulletin board, a sad man looks at his bulletin of the Blue Man Group, and Tobias says they're literally blue. This is a callback to the season premiere "The One Where Michael Leaves" when he viewed the poster for "Blue Man Group" and thought it was a support group. Edit
    • Sally Sitwell mentions feeling terrible for "whoever it was" whose car burned at the country club, yet later Stan Sitwell mentions his car just having been destroyed by fire. Sally was in the club parking lot, so wouldn't she have recognized her father's car, even burned? Edit

    • During Tobias's scene at the bulletin board, a sad man looks at his bulletin of the Blue Man Group, and Tobias says they're literally blue. This is a nod toward David Cross's last spoken word album where he talks about the overuse and wrong interpretation of the word "literally". Edit
    • Narrator: In fact, it was People's Choice nominated actor Moses Taylor, famous for his portrayal of the rule-abiding detective Frank Wrench, star of the television show Wrench. Sledge Hammer was a television detective show about a police detective who was always breaking the rules. Edit
    • n/a: Peter and the Wolf
George Michael wants to burn the "Peter and the Wolf" record - a musical piece/story by Prokofiev. Edit
