Arrested Development was one of a kind, though I think a show that is rather similar and also hilarious is Curb your Enthusiasm.

I would recommend Boston Legal, The Office (original english version), and Extras.

All these shows are far better than your bog standard 'scrubs' or 'fiends'

Summer Heights High better than Scrubs? What have you been smoking? I watched SHH when it first came out and I doubt it would have gotten the ratings it did without the Chaser.

I've been enjoying Modern Family, I get an AD lite vibe.

Modern Family & Trailer Park Boys are similar due to the 'family' connection angle. I have also been watching Freaks and Geeks. I always hate when they end a great series and we have to find alternatives

I was going to say that AD is like a mix of Modern Family (now that Ive seen it) and The Office with a tiny bit of Seinfeld thrown in.

Arrested Development fans rejoice! Our favorite father figure, Jeffrey Tambor, is back in a new web short, The Trivial Pursuits of Arthur Banks on amctv.com

geez, sorry, but absolutely not. modern family is racist, homophobic annoying, and a total rip-off of The Office by using a hand-held camera as if a camera crew was interviewing the family members and following them around, which doesn't make any sense, by the way, while in 'The Office', it was clear from episode 1 that a tv crew was filming that office (at least that was the premise in the original english version, but since the US version has over 7 season now, they somewhat forgot why they had a hand-held camera in the first place...

As for seinfeld, same thing, nothing to do with AD's humor, even though i love seinfeld's stand up comedy (all routines of which, by the way, were written by Larry David from Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Anyway, Arrested Development set a style of comedy on its own, with a mix of punch lines and totally surreal comedy a-la Monty Python. As for today's equivalent: COMMUNITY and RAISING HOPE have both a similar approach. A humor you can find also in movies such as Juno, The Royal Tennenbaums, Little Miss Sunshine. I would put all these in the same category, that i call "hip-comedy". But that's just me.

Can anyone help with the name of a short clip comedy show?

    One episode has:

Guy leaves kid at the park.

Guy returns to the park, gets chewed out, argues with and insults the black woman who is watching the kid.

Woman makes guy call his wife/gf, gf comes, they fight, dude gets wood while trying to keep the women from fighting.

There were other "episodes"...remember that they were funny/inappropriate...short little attention span has me at a loss.

    Thanks in advance.
