So, I'm slowly running out of ideas of what comedy shows to watch, and I don't really want to experiment to much, wasting time on trying shows that aren't good. So here's a topic that will hopefully contain some good recommendations for other shows.

Here goes - if you liked/loved Arrested Development, you might also like:

    Seinfeld
    Curb Your Enthusiasm
    The Office (UK/US)
    The Extras
    It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
    Malcolm in the Middle
    Scrubs
    House M.D.
    Futurama

    etc.

    possibly Reno 911
The Royal Tenenbaums. (Not a show, but funny and somewhat similiar nonetheless.)

I see a lot of you have mentioned 30 Rock. I'm just curious, is it in anyway similar to Arrested Development or smart funny at all? Friends of mine have said nothing good of that show.

    About 30 Rock.
I personally do not consider it one of my favorite shows. It's not all bad though I've seen most of it, because my friends like it, and it's watchable and sort of smart-funny but nothing like AD imo.
Usually I'm not even that picky when it comes to comedy it doesn't have to be as smart as AD was to make me laugh. Don't get me wrong its a big plus if its is but with 30 Rock I just can't shake the feeling I'm watching some sort of weird NBC commercial.

I've wanted to watch 30 Rock, but for whatever reason, have yet to see an episode. I love Tina Fey, so I guess I just assume it's a funny show. :-)

Yeah, me neither. I don't watch too much tv, just Earl and the Office along with re-runs of Seinfeld and Simpsons and of course NFL and college football. The rest of the time I play video games. I want to give it a shot, but just haven't yet.

Unlike AD which started with a bang, 30 Rock took a little while to find it's footing. But it is definitely getting really good, and has a lot of AD characteristics, like running jokes and call backs to events in previous episodes.

I also love "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." The first 2 seasons just came out on dvd, and the third is airing now. It's a no-laugh track show with the 4 main characters owning a bar, and basicly having the same morel fiber as GOB.

The only things that I would consider similar in humour are The Office and Scrubs.

Other good shows are My Name is Earl and Seinfeld.

I think Curb Your Enthusiasm is hilarious. I've been catching the episodes on SideReel since I don't have HBO. Definitly give it a try.

Yeah, I found it on OVGUIDE.com. I don't know about much, much better but I am sick of Seinfeld now, so this is a nice change of pace.
