Michael is wrestling with the dilemma of Maggie's file on his family when Gob comes home. Gob wants it destroyed, but Michael points out it is only a list and apparently the prosecution has boxes of evidence against his father.
George Michael, with a sprained elbow, and Maeby came home. Lindsay hears the story of George Michael helping a girl in a wheelchair up the stairs, she tells him to sue, like she was doing to get a Ten Commandments statue removed from the front of the county courthouse. Michael realizes that he has to do the right thing with the legal file.
Michael admits his name to Maggie. She tells him she knew this because she smelled him. She reveals the file is only a wish list of evidence and not an actual list. The prosecution hasn't found it all. Michael and Maggie realize they can't ethically continue their relationship. They do so anyway.
Michael woke up the next morning, like Maggie, happy. They decided they should keep the relationship a dirty little secret. Michael is missing a meeting with Barry and his father. Gob secretly stole the evidence list while Michael was lecturing his family for abusing the legal system. He was under the impression that boxes of the evidence were at Maggie's home. Buster and Annyong were waiting outside. Annyong told Buster that they were going to accept the plea and daddy would come home, meaning Buster would moving out.
Michael and Maggie were walking together when a police officer pulled over. He needed to take Maggie to the station because a surprise witness had turned up. Michael offers to take Maggie's dog, Justice, home for her. Gob was going to break in to Maggie's place, but passed the task to Tobias, who's legendary cat-like quickness could be put to use.
Michael wants to see what Maggie's world is like. He closes his eyes and allows Justice to lead the way. Justice leads Michael into traffic and gets him hit by a car. Maggie met with the surprise witness, Buster. Buster is willing to offer insider information for three things. 1)George Sr. stays in prison, 2) Annyong is sent back to Korea, and 3) A grilled cheese sandwich. Buster's interview proves useless, as he knows nothing. Buster, panicking over losing his grilled cheese sandwich, reveals all he knows: there are boxes of evidence at Scenic View Drive, where Maggie lives.
Tobias was using his catlike agility to sneak in. Unfortunately, Maggie had just gotten home. Concerned about Maggie's heightened sense of smell, puts on a cloak to remind her of her scent. As Maggie stalks the house, Tobias repeatedly freezes in position.
Michael arrived at the vet's office. Justice is fine, but it turns out Justice himself is blind. Michael puts the pieces together, and realizes Maggie can't be blind. She isn't, and has been pretending to since she found it helpful when taking the LSAT test.
Maggie continued to lie as it helped her career. However, Tobias is still dealing with what he thinks is an incredibly difficult blind woman to outmaneuver. Michael shows up to return Justice, but when Maggie walked into the bathroom where Tobias was hiding, he panics and sprays her eyes with perfume.
The family gathered at the courthouse. Outside, Surely Funke, is addressing the crowd about there being no ramps at school. George Michael, accompanying her, spots his dad, and not wanting to look like he was abusing the legal system, hid behind the Ten Commandments statue. Michael, determined to expose Maggie, hides on the other side of he statue. At that moment, Lindsay won her big legal victory, and the statue is lifted by a crane, and on to Barry's car.
So Michael, in the courtroom, was set to expose Maggie. He threw a Bible at her, thinking she would duck and blow her cover. However, Maggie had ironically been blinded temporarily when Tobias sprayed her with perfume. The Bible drills her in the face, and the bailiffs take Michael away.
George Michael is ready to expose Maeby, but when she credits him as inspiration, he reverses and assembles the crowd to chant with him. Inside, Michael and Maggie apologize, and interestingly, the Bible had restored her sight.
On the next Arrested Development...
Barry gets a sign from God, and Maggie is replaced with a new, less generous prosecutor.
