Season 4 wasn't flawless, but it was clever and funny and heartfelt, just like AD's original three seasons, and it still tried to push the boundaries of a common sitcom.
This episode wasn't exceptional and it wasn't terrible either. It was somewhat surreal and oddly paced, but still funny (why pie?), and ultimately it was somewhat fitting for the awkward, disturbing education of a motherman like Buster.
Who will George Michael become when he finally starts to stand up for himself? While I don't think "It Gets Better" exhibited the same sharpness as G.O.B.'s episodes this season, it definitely featured the most character growth.
I enjoyed the Maeby episode for a lot of same reasons that I enjoyed some of the other episodes featuring characters who don't usually have complicated plots.
It seems like each character gets a maximum of two episodes in Season 4, so it makes me sad that this one is probably G.O.B.'s last.
"Queen B." was more of the same for Season 4, but at the very least, we got to see things from a new perspective.
