  • For anyone who has seen the Star Wars Kid video, this is such an hysterically funny episode! I loved it!!

    "Perfect"
    It took me a while to get used to the humor in Arrested Developement. Now it's on syndication here, and I finally took the time to watch the episodes. Now, I'm so hooked, and it saddens me that they killed it off, and didn't even give it a full third season.

    This episode was amazing. George-Michael running for president in his school with "Virgin" posters were great. Buster in bed with the robot vakuum followed by the now classic line: "I'm a Monster!"
    But the best parts were Buster and George- Michaels home videos. Obvious spoofs on the Star Wars Kid videos, witch is hysterical in it self. I haven't laughed like that in a long time!!moreless

  • Mrs Featherbottom is introduced

    9.5
    "Superb"
    Is it just me or does Mrs Feather-bottom look familiar? There are too many priceless scenes in this episode to list but I'll give it a go:
    -> Tobias dressed as the nanny
    -> George Michael's star wars video
    -> Gob's creation of the anti-Steve Holt video
    -> Buster sleeping with Lupe
    -> Buster sleeping with robot (what do you expect? He's half machine!)
    -> The comparison of apples and some fruit no-one's ever heard of
    -> Tobias using the set bathroom
    -> Gob trying to fire Michael and call security
    -> Buster's inspiration for a home movie
    -> George Michael tying with Bart Simpson and School sucks
    -> The "next time" scenes

    And those are just some select favourites. All in all, this episode is funny enough to make every view laugh the whole way through.moreless

    • Gob: (referring to Steve Holt) This kid's popular? Looks like a chick I did once in high school. Edit
    • Gob: Well, guess who's been fired. Lucille: Michael fired you? Gob: No, I fired him. As a result, I'm no longer welcome in the office. Edit
    • Michael: (on Steve Holt) So, he's more popular than George Michael then? Maeby: That's like comparing apples and some fruit nobody's ever heard of. Edit
  • Allusions

    ADD ALLUSIONS
    • Elections: Ann claiming the Christian vote can make someone president - is an allusion to how Rove & Bush claim the Christian vote put Bush in office. Edit
    • n/a: Blackstool Tobias' alter-ego, Mrs. Featherbottom, reveals she comes from Blackstool, England. This is a pun in reference to the large coastal town of Blackpool, England. Edit
    • Title: The Immaculate Election
      The title is a pun of an NFL play called The Immaculate Reception.
      The game was played on 1972 between the Oakland Raiders and the Pittsburgh Steelers, in which a play where Steeler's Quarterback Terry Bradshaw passed to John (Frenchy) Fuqua. The ball converged with Fuqua and Raiders safety Jack Tatum. The ball popped out and in to the hands of rookie running back Franco Harris who took off down the left sideline to score a touchdown, all the while the Raiders celebrated after the supposed dropped pass.
      The Raiders argued that Fuqua had batted the ball to Harris (the rules of the time did not permit consecutive touches by offensive players). The touchdown stood and the pass went down in History. Edit
