Michael is preparing for a meeting with the company board to determine what to do with some recently unfrozen money. Lindsay asks Michael for some. She wants to cheat on Tobias, and these thing cost money. Lindsay's most recent attempts to seduce him failed, and they've only had sex once in the past year. Michael, however, has earmarked the funds for purchasing land.
Michael received a text message from Lucille "Need money, a matter of land". Turns out it was only a matter of l and d, life and death. Lucille needs money to send Buster to Canada for surgery. His jaw clicks when he eats. Michael says the operation he should be having is Lucille cutting the cord.
George Michael was working at the banana stand when he thought he saw a familiar face. It looks just like his Pop Pop, but with long, gray hair. At home, he tells Maeby he thinks George Sr. broke out of prison and refuses to let Maeby sway him. He thinks there's no other conceivable explanation.
At that moment, Michael received a call from his father. His twin brother is in town and he wants Michael to take care of him.
Give him 10k from the new cash and send him on his way. Michael says no, and has a plan for the money that will silence the board, including Mr. Jordan, a troublemaking shareholder who has demanded to have twice his stock value to be bought out.
Mr. Jordan smugly offered his buyout package again, telling Michael he doesn't want a whistle blower around. However, Michael seems to want a lot of whistleblowers around and hands out company whistles to the board. The company is going to police itself now. Michael took the whistles back twenty minutes later after much gratuitous whistle blowing. Just then, Tobias barged in with his request of money.
Back in Michael's office, Tobias explained that he needs to prove his masculinity to Lindsay. He was interrupted when Gob walked in, asking for some money as well. His wife had left him to join the army, since things between Tobias and her weren't going to work out. Michael says they should find a way to make money for themselves. Don't end up like Uncle Oscar, always looking for a handout. Later that day, Maeby saw something interesting. A man looking just like Pop Pop with long hair riding a tricycle.
Lindsay headed to the salon, hoping to boost her self-esteem. Unfortunately, her stylist was called up by his reserve unit. Lindsay was shocked. Not only was her stylist leaving, but apparently there was a war going on. She decides to protest it, which would thereby increase her self-esteem.
Gob and Tobias went to a coffee bar to figure out a business venture. They're about to leave because the place is so crowded, when Michael walks in. He spotted them and, thinking they wanted to invest in a coffee bar, said he would look into their proposal. Waiting in line, Michael is greeted with a hug by Uncle Oscar. Michael, not wanting to simply give him a handout, saw if they could work out a deal. Uncle Oscar offers to sell his 200 acres of lemon groves near Camp Pendleton that he owns. Michael visited the land, and envisioning beautiful homes going up there, bought it.
The next day, a gloating Michael headed to the prison. He tells George Sr. he made a wise investment instead of giving a handout to Uncle Oscar. George Sr. asks him to take pity, for Oscar has nothing in his life except for a bad song he wrote and a worthless piece of land. The government has an easement on the grove because they can drive tanks there. Nobody can build on it.
Back at the model home, Lindsay was preparing for her protest. Maeby tells George Michael his suspicions about Pop Pop were right, so they went to prison to see if he was still there. Michael returned home, embarrassed about the poor investment. He leaves Oscar a message, that even if he thinks he disappeared, he will find him. George Michael overhears this and grows more nervous.
Gob and Tobias eagerly presented Michael with their plan for Gobias Industries Coffee. Michael tells a little white lie, saying George Sr. had gone behind his back and purchased the lemon groves, which apparently, Tobias and Gob also knew were worthless. They're determined to give George a piece of their minds, while Michael tries to dissuade them from it.
The next day, Lindsay joined a protest group protesting a military exercise. Upon arrival, a military spokesman led them to a "free speech zone" which as actually a small cage. Meanwhile, George Michael and Maeby were disappointed to find Pop Pop at the prison.
Michael went to the board with a new strategy. He blamed his dad for the bad land. Mr. Jordan, whistle blowing, points out that it is fraud to run a business from prison. Michael tries to backtrack, but then receives a message: his father is calling to discuss the land deal Michael made with Uncle Oscar.
Lindsay is starting to draw attention with her protest. But mainly from some rednecks who came to hose down what they thought was a gay marriage. All the protesters evacuate except her, who dances while being hosed off. This pleases the men and builds her self esteem.
An obviously desperate Michael made a rare visit to Balboa Towers. Lucille advises Michael to just forgive himself. She'll take care of it. And the man who had given up the land for the woman he'd always wanted, saw the woman come back and ask him to take back the land he had traded for her.
The next day, Lucille came down to the Bluth company with big news. Mr. Jordan has been bought out and Lucille got the money back from Oscar. Oh, and she is now a board member.
On the next Arrested Development...
Michael finds having his mother on the board problematic, Lindsay finds her true calling, and Oscar comes a-courtin'.
