  • Absolutely amazing.

I'd have to completely disagree that this episode was just average - it was explosive, and the big revelations were unpredictable and executed very cleverly. Particularly that last scene with Maya and Laurel was absolutely fascinating, and it coincided well with a deal struck by Sebastian and Oliver which was a very good climax.

I also love this episode because for the first time in 10 episodes this season, Laurel actually proved useful, and that was a refreshing change. I like her investigating Sebastian and I think it adds a very good element to the story.

I also love the developments with Roy - very intrigued to see where that will go!

All up, it was a phenomenal hour for mine, and in fact one of my favourite episodes of the season, which is saying something because the first 10 episodes have really delivered!moreless
  • Run of the mill episode

    8.0
Not a very exciting episode, - no big reveals, no surprises, no character deaths or revivals, but not a bad episode either - no ghosts or multiple superhero births, so all in all it was OK.
  • Not As Explosive As It's Title Would Suggest

    7.5
Okay this Mid-season premiere was kinda lame but it wasn't a total disaster as the quality of Arrow's episodes are hardly terrible but this one was pretty bad.

I didn't like the 'Villain Of The Week' as much as I love Sean Maher and he did the best with the material his character was really shoehorned into this episode. I would of much rather have had the episode focus on Sebastian Blood more than the throwaway exposition dialogue he rattled off to Laurel, or get more insight into the return of Slade.

Even the flashbacks to the Island which I usually love was very misplaced here and didn't tie into the present like they always do.

But still this episode had it's bright points I liked the continuing subplot with Roy and I hope we see more of it. I also really liked that the people of Starling City have started calling Oliver 'The Arrow' that's pretty neat.

All in all this mid-season premiere was just okay but I have high hopes that rest of this 2nd Season is gonna be even better!moreless

Shrapnel feeds on the blood of his victims, and hates his mutated appearance.
