  • Spectacular.

    Another brilliant episode of Arrow today - I loved all the interaction between Sara and her father, coupled with the stuff going on with her and Oliver and the bad guys hunting her down.

    It's a really intense series of circumstances, but it's kinda frustrating that Laurel doesn't get to know about this either. Her character is just drifting away into nothingness at this point...

    Looking forward to the trial though - I think that will be some exciting stuff! Can't wait to see that and more real soon!moreless

    I just can't warm to the actress who plays canary. Its also a matter of time before Lance thinks, "wait a minute.. the woman superhero is my daughter who went missing with oliver, they're both back now and she's besties with Arrow.. I wonder who he could be?" It's also great how a little green eye shadow can disguise you to even your closest friends and family. I'll try that if I ever rob a bank.moreless
  • "Oliver is that you?'

    How many more times do Ex-detective Lance and The Arrow need to be in the same room, only meters apart, before Lance's highly-trained detective skills kick in and he says, "Oliver is that you?"

    I defy any normal human being (normal as in, not a professionally train observer like a police officer) to interact in a room with someone they know, but that person is wearing a hood, a painted mask and modulating their voice, and still not recognize them.

    Sure the writers have Lance and the disguised Oliver always standing with one facing the back of the other, one talking to the other over his shoulder, like in a bad soap opera, having them avoid looking at one another face to face. But this is just not enough.

    Even if Lance intentionally didn't want to discover the true identity of the disguised Arrow, his highly trained skills would naturally kick in. There's:

    The body shape;

    The way he moves;

    His height;

    His jaw line;

    His smell (I'm sure the suave Oliver wears a cologne that as The Arrow he doesn't have time to scrub off);

    Then there is his voice, even modulated, his speech pattern is still the same, as are his use of words and inflections.

    And these are just some of the basics of distinguishing another person that I as an untrained observer am aware of. Distinctions that a normal person notices instinctively. For someone whose business is identification of others, like a police officer, there must be many more.

    Picking someone out in a crowd is so highly developed that it is second nature to someone like Lance. He knew his own daughter from a short distances away, even though he hadn't seen her for 5 years, and believed her to be dead, and he doesn't know Oliver, the object of his hate for 5 years, because he is wearing a hood? Please?

    Then this standing in the same room with this person who is armed and dangerous and known to kill, with his back to him. Every instinct in his body must be screaming to turn around. You don't keep a person like that behind you if you can help it.

    A disguise only works to keep people who don't already know you from discovering who you really are. If they already know you, a disguise will not work.

    A couple of other peeves:

    They were in the "tallest building in the city" according to Sara, yet The Arrow comes in through a window on a zip line from a higher angle. How is that possible? And then one of the assassins dives out of that same window. Sure, the League of Assassins warriors are highly trained, but since when can they fly?moreless
  • Dynamite

    This is one of the best shows on television right now. Marvel's Agents of . writers should take note from this 'epic' series.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Sara: There were things that I did; things that I had to do to survive. Things that there's no forgiveness for.
      Oliver: Well, that's the thing about forgiveness--you can't get it until you ask for it.

    • Felicity: What's the League of Assassins? And please, don't say that they're a league made up of assassins.

    • Felicity: You're not even flinching when he...
      Sara: Pain and I came to a little understanding a few years back.

    • Quentin: What the hell, Sara, who the hell are these guys?
      Al Ow-Al: Associates of your daughter, Officer Lance.
      Quentin: She always did have the worst taste in friends.

    • Dark Archer Stick: Guns are a coward's weapon. What are you without your sidearm?
      Quentin: A guy with a spare.

    • Sara: I'm sorry you saw that. I can't imagine what you must think of me.
      Quentin: I think you're a survivor. I think you're one of the bravest people I've ever known. You're my daughter. It's time for you to come back home.

  • NOTES (3)

    • Professor Ivo:
      Professor Anthony Ivo first appeared in Brave & The Bold #30 (June 1960) and was created by Gardner Fox and Murphy Anderson. Ivo suffered from a crippling fear of death and vowed to become immortal. He created a super-android, Amazo, and used it to bring him the ingredients he thought he could use to make an immortality serum. He succeeded, but at the cost of hideous disfigurement. Since then, he has created several versions of Amazo, and on occasion sought his own destruction when he tired of life as a freak. In more recent years he has cured himself of the disfigurement and hires himself out as a criminal scientist to various masterminds.

    • Colton Haynes and Manu Bennett are credited but don't appear.
