  • Terrific!

This was a great episode, and a great injection as the first appearance of the Flash, which by now is naturally its own show.

Loved the case and the connection to the events of the island - definitely linked together perfectly and it set up a really intense ending.

I also loved Moira's power play against Malcolm and that one is sure to have explosive ramifications come next wekk!

    All up, a brilliant episode!moreless
  • The Goofy Scietist

Addition of a new character at the time when Felicity is feeling lonely is welcomed warmly.
  • AMAZING EPISODE!

One of my favorites so faaaaaaar

Felicity and the new guy are adorable together too bad that he will goo :(
  • Why don't they just tell everyone and be done with it!

    8.0
I found it unbelievable that they would suddenly let a stranger, who they know very little about, into the arrow secret. Ollies been injured before. Felicity wouldn't let Diggle call 911 because his secret would be revealed, so why not change his clothes with Diggle and I'm sure Felicity would have a tissue to remove his green eyeshadow, if not, I'm sure the ER has seen stranger things than a man in eyeshadow.

Why didn't Moira just call the bad guys to take Merlin away instead of tipping him off to run?moreless
  • Why would Merlyn be scared of Ra's Al Ghul?

    9.0
Great episode and love how they are developing the Flash.

Wondering though why Ra's Al Ghul is angry at Merlyn for what he did? In Batman Begins, Ra's did the same thing and wanted to kill all of Gotham City for being so corrupt. Wasn't Merlyn doing the same thing with the Undertaking by killing off everyone at the Glades?

    • Felicity: You look fabulous. Really, better than ever. Did you do something with your hair?
Moira: Yes, I shampooed it without eight women and a guard watching.
Felicity: Is it okay to laugh? Because I was ordered not to say anything about you being in prison, just to avoid any awkward... exchanges.
      Oliver: Like that one.
      Felicity: Right.

    • Quentin: Any idea what these guys were so hot to break in here for? You didn't happen to leave a spare earthquake machine lying around, did you? (Oliver stare) Sorry.

  • NOTES (6)

    • Katie Cassidy is credited but doesn't appear.

    • The Flash (Silver Age)

The Silver Age Flash first appeared in Showcase #4 (October 1956) and was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino. Police scientist Barry Allan was doused with electrified chemicals and gained accelerated speed. Inspired by the (then) comic book exploits of the Golden Age Flash, he donned a flashy costume and went out to fight crime. A charter member of the Justice League, the Flash served with distinction until he was killed in Crisis on Infinite Earths. He was eventually resurrected 20 years later and serves as the premiere Flash of the DC Universe.

    • Injoke: The episode begins with a crash of thunder and a flash of lightning, a stylistic touch that was also used to start episodes of the 1990s series The Flash.

    • Injoke: In the comics, Cyrus Gold is the miser who was murdered and left in Slaughter Swamp, and reborn as Solomon Grundy, who takes his name from the 1842 English nursery rhyme.

    • Injoke: While Barry and Felicity are conducting their investigations, he is lining up some chemical tubes when lightning and thunder fill the sky. This same set-up precludes the accident where lightning hits chemicals and him, turning him into the Flash.
