how can I watch this episode without buying it?
  • Yay. Oliver's baby lives.

I thought there must be something sinister about Oliver's baby flashbacks. I thought that Slade had found Oliver's child and was planning to use it in his final act of revenge. I guess that those flashbacks were mainly for Moira and for another story line down the road. Introducing Oliver to his child in the big showdown finale would have been pretty cool, but having Felicity save the day was just awesome.moreless
  • full on action

    9.5
This episode pulls out all stop with a lot of action.

Great was the last fight with Slade, which was intercut with the fight with Slade in the flashback, which made for a dizzling experience, but also showed how Oliver has developed in the meantime. This time he make a different decision and doesn't kill Slade, but captures him

This is especially important in the light that almost all of his allies have been trying to convince him to kill Slade. And they almost had convinced him. But then Felicity put him back on the right path.

Felicity is really the best. She was his conscience in the scene where she brought him back from the decision to kill Slade. And she was so brave when she let herself be captured by Slade ( good plan, I almost believed for a second that Olliver was really declaring his love for her, but then thought, no, he wouldn't put a woman he loves on the sidelines, there must be a plan behind this). She was seemingly terrified, but managed to deliver the deciding blow, that is real bravery.

I am all for team Oliver and Felicity together ( nice simmering scene on the island beach at the end with them both, you see the potential for these two even though they themselves don't want to think about this yet, but we as viewers can hope).

We finally see Sara go, but did she have to metaphorically give the mantle to Lauren? Help! I hope she doesn't get combat training in the next series and becomes the new canary.

Also, please don't let her father die. He finally became Arrow's ally and is also a strong personality ( in contrast to his daughters). It would be really bad to loose him.

Even though Thea wrote to Roy that she won't be back, I can't quite believe it. She will probably be trained by Daddy dearest ( she really shot him and that actually made him proud, what a father). There is only the question if she will be one of the good guys or the bad ones.

Why did they have Olliver loose all his money ( I can understand loosing the control of his company, but shouldn't he have some personal money, like a trust fund ( good rich parents would set something like this up). I can't quite understand this development)? With all his gadgets and the secret lair, I cant' quite see how he can be the Arrow and have a nine to five job.

The ending really surprised me. He actually got of the island and now the woman from Argus has him in her clutches. I was expecting him to end up with Anatolie. Lets see how this story develops in the next season.

  • Awwww, Felicity!

    8.5
They really had me, lump in my throat and everything, Ollie and Felicity, Felicity and Ollie. But then, without that tension, the plot can't move along, can it? She can't be hunched over those Windows 8 screens if they're making out an all, so, ok, I accept our fate. What brave woman.

One of the best season finales of any show of its kind, IMO, great job, everyone! And let's give ourselves a hand, too, we've been a great audience!moreless
  • Not a bad ending...

    7.0
Sorry to see Sarah go and it looks like the writers are setting up Laural to be the new Black Canary by having Sarah give her the black jacket. This would be ridiculous, as it took Sarah years of living on a hellish island to hone her exceptional fighting skills, so for Laural to take over would be plain stupid. It does however, seem we have now finished with the island flash back story for now, so it will be interesting to see if the writers revisit the island. Don't see how Roy could possibly stay as he no longer has any 'powers' after being cured. Why Arrow gave him a mask is beyond me. It would have been nice to have seen an appearance from the Flash to end the season but I guess that's not going to happen now. All in all not a bad finale, I would still have liked to see Sarah carried over to the next season, I feel her and Arrow make a great fighting team and hopefully bring him back to his killing ways, this no kill policy is getting boring. Looks like Thea is going to team up with her 'dad' and become a masked villian next season, maybe she will kill Roy off for can only hope.moreless
