Arrow "Vertigo" Review: This Episode Wobbled, But Didn't Fall Down

I appreciate the desire to create a big, brash nemesis for Oliver to square off against, and goodness knows I think the show could benefit from that, but I think the writers tried a little too hard to create a…

    • Spectacular.

This was a glamorous episode with Oliver hunting down the Vertigo producer, while Thea faces the consequences of her use of the Vertigo.

The ending was spectacular also - I am so excited to see that continued next week and I am anticipating an explosive confrontation which I just cannot wait to see!

Series is moving along really weel!
    • Night Scenes of buildings

Why is it that some of the night scenes of the skyline shows Frankfurt when we're supposed to think it is an American city? The Commerz Bank building and Halaba tower are shown. Episode 12 at about 34:29 min. This is the second time I've seen it in the serie.
    • The tablet

It was a Microsoft Surface tablet, more likely to be the Pro edition. Hardware packed tablet PC.
    • Tablet

A really good and action packed episode, loved it. Can anyone tell me what kind of tablet/pc laurel used before Oliver came to see her?
    • Vertigo

Vertigo was a fast paced action packed episode of Arrow. I really enjoyed watching because I was over deals with the Russian mob in order to find The Count who is the creator and dealer of the drug vertigo. It was awesome to watch Oliver do whatever he could in order to help his sister. Thea learns the truth about her mother and father after facing some serious charges. It was cool to meet 1 of Oliver's old friends on the police force. John is an awesome partner in fighting the good fight and he really took good care of Oliver. felicity connects with Oliver discreetly to tell him about something she discovered. There was lots of great character development and growth. I liked how everything played out and I certainly look forward to watching what happens next!!!!!!!!!

    • TRIVIA (0)

    • QUOTES (6)

      • Oliver: Took down three Vertigo pushers tonight, Diggle. Last one finally knew a name. The Count.
Diggle: The Count? That's worse than The Hood.

      • Oliver: Hey, we should get going. Judges don't appreciate the value in being fashionably late.

      • Tommy: I'm learning you're not much of a morning snuggler.
Laurel: And I'm learning that you don't like to wake up at any hour that ends in a.m.
        Tommy: Yeah, that's true.

      • Diggle: Just that easy, huh.
Oliver: Well, I will need my trusty bodyguard.
Diggle: Fantastic. Looking forward to my new and exciting career as a drug dealer.

      • Felicity: You look like something the cat dragged in. Not that there are cats in this building. Well, once a cat did get in, but a guard tazed it. It smelled like fur and static in here for a week.

      • Oliver: But I'm very particular about what it is I put in my body.
Felicity: I noticed. (Oliver stares) I said, not noticed. Right?

    • NOTES (3)

      • Injoke: Thea's middle name is "Dearden," a reference to Mia Dearden, the second character to use the name of Speedy and work as Green Arrow's sidekick in the comics.

      • Count Vertigo
Count Werner Vertigo first appeared in World's Finest Comics #251 (July 1978) and was created by Gerry Conway, Trevor Von Eeden, and Vince Colletta. Vertigo is the last descendent of the royal family of Vlatava, and suffers from an inner-ear disorder. He discovered that he could modify the device to project waves of nausea on anyone in his vicinity, and first battled Green Arrow in Star City. He later was able to project his "vertigo effect" without need of the device, and gained the ability to fly. After the destruction of his homeland, Vertigo has spent time both as villain (as a member of the Injustice Society and the Suicide Squad) and a hero of sorts with Checkmate.
