Binky has always somewhat fancied himself as "tough," but when it comes to athletics, it seems he always chokes when it comes to the clutch. He decides to erase all evidence of his past failures and give up sporting activities for good, only to find that he's a natural at biking. Mr. Frensky compares him to the champion Vince Legstrong and convinces him to register for a race. Binky, however, is still worried about failure, but learns that it's important to have fun and the only person you're ever really competing against is yourself.

"Operation D.W."
After a series of ear infections, D.W.'s been having some problems hearing. It turns out that she needs to have an operation to remove some fluid in her ears. At first she isn't scared because she doesn't think it's a big deal. When Arthur says that she's being brave, she begins to wonder if she really is so brave at all.moreless
DW's ear doctor is called "Dr. Tinnitus". Tinnitus is the ringing of one's ears. D.W.'s problem was not being able to hear properly because of fluid in her ears.
At the end of the episode, Marc Brown talks about a hidden feature of the Arthur books. He reveals that each book contains the names of his three children --- Tucker, Tolon and Eliza somewhere within the illustrations.
Head instructor Joe talks about the KICK program, which helps kids to learn martial arts. Viewers see kids taking a test of their ability. They also learn about Taylor, who cried at his first tournament, but had taken second place by his third.
Francine reads the title card for "Binky vs. Binky" It's the one where Binky blows a bubble gum bubble too big and it pops all over him. Binky reads the title card for "Operation: D.W.!" It's the one where a fairy version of D.W. uses a wand to make Arthur appear in the card and then changes his head into that of a frog.
At one point, a clipboard with the names of patients at the hospital can be seen in "Operation D.W." D.W.'s name is at the top and below it are the names Nancy Simard, Mario Gailloux, Junian Huang and Rolando Chia. Nancy Simard is the Layout / Posing Coordinator for Postcards from Buster. Mario Gailloux and Junian Huang are both background designers for Arthur. Rolando Chia's involvement with either series (if any) is unknown at this time.
"Operation D.W." was the first story title known generally to viewers for the tenth season. This story was created in conjunction with Arthur's Guide to the Children's Hospital Boston, which is an online guide featuring many characters from the show.
D.W.: Your ears look fine, but your brains are missing. I'll have to operate right away. Arthur: No operations. D.W.: I promise you won't feel a thing! What are you scared of? It's just a little brain operation...
Nurse: (to a little boy) You are the best patient ever. D.W.: Hey! She told me I was the best patient ever!
D.W.: Everybody loves me! I'm the number one patient!
Timmy: (in fantasy sequence) You have no bravery at all. Not a single speck. Surgeon: Oh, D.W. She'll probably never be able to swim without water wings.
D.W.: And then I saw a doctor called an anesthesiologist. That's the longest word I've ever said. Arthur: What does he do? D.W.: He makes sure I'm asleep during the operation. And I have to make sure my stomach's empty, so I can't eat or drink anything after midnight. Arthur: That doesn't sound so bad. D.W.: That's easy for you to say! You're not the one missing breakfast.
D.W.: What is wrong with you? Why are you acting so... so nice? Arthur: Because you're about to have an operation. D.W.: So what? Arthur: So it's a big deal. And you're being really brave about it.
Arthur: Of course, there are some things you can never be prepared for. Mrs. Read: Arthur, come meet your baby sister, Dora Winifred. Dora: Boo! (cries)
Arthur: Some things aren't as bad as they seem, as long as you're prepared.
Vance: (in poster of Binky's) There's only one person you should be competting against out there. Binky: Who? Vance: Yourself. Ignore everyone else and try to do your best. Binky: Easy for you to say. You're the best cyclist in the world. Vance: How do you think I got to be the best cyclist in the world?
Mrs. Barnes: Does this mean you'er thinking of taking up cycling? Binky: Um, I dunno, maybe. Mrs. Barnes: Well, I'm sure you'll be wonderful at it. (She leaves the room.) Alter Binky: You'll be wonderful at it, all right. Until you're in a race. And then... Binky: Well, I'm not gonna be in any races, okay? So just can it.
Vance Legstrong is a riff on the name of world-famous biker Lance Armstrong.
