    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • "Arthur's Lost Library Book" seems to have "chapters" in the episode. They are indicated by D.W. wearing monster gloves and amplifying her voice with a cardboard tube. The chapters include "Chapter 1: Arthur Goes to the Library," "Chapter 2: One Week Later," "Chapter 3: The Investigation," and "Chapter 4: It's Lost, OK? Face It, You Lost It."

      • These stories mark the first appearances of Nadine (D.W's invisible friend), Ms. Turner (the librarian) and the Scare-Your-Pants-Off book series (a parody of the Goosebumps books.)

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Buster: Arthur, Francine says you think I stole "The Mysterious Hand".
Arthur: Well, it's gone and you wanted it.
        Buster: You probably lost it.
Arthur: But I looked absolutely everywhere.
Buster: (gasps) Maybe Giant Mutant Mole People took it!
        Arthur: Oh, right.
(The camera pans down underground showing two Giant Mutant Mole People with a hearing machine.)
Female Mutant Mole: I don't have it. You got it?
        Male Mutant Mole: Nope.
(The camera pans back up to the playground where Arthur and Buster are standing.)
Buster: All I can say is you better find because we all want to read it!

      • Arthur and Buster: (simultaneously about the motion-sickness bags provided in the Hurl-a-Whirl) Barf bags!

      • Binky: Don't blab it around that I'm reading books, or else!

    • NOTES (3)

      • Buster offers Prunella his library card in exchange for some chocolate cake in "D.W.'s Imaginary Friend," noting that she likes reading. Whether or not anything came of the offer is unknown, but if it was accepted, he apparently later got his card back, or got a new card.

      • Nobody reads the title card out loud in "D.W.'s Imaginary Friend."

      • The limit on books allowed for checkout by one person at the Elwood City Library at the time of this episode is seven. Arthur brought up six to check out and Ms. Turner noted that he could check out one more. It is possible, though, that the Elwood City Library, like some other libraries, has separate limits on checkout total for children and adults.
