Although I think all episodes have their funny moments, I've found that some are meant to be more serious than funny. Stealing a toy is serious business. So is the realization that grandparents age. As is the school being damaged by a fire, and the kids having nightmares about it. I think the "Bleep" episode is meant to be more serious than funny. Profanity unfortunately is part of life, and kids are exposed to it it seems at younger and younger ages. Some are exposed to it since birth. The "Bleep" episode I think is to help kids understand what profanity is, and how it hurts people's feelings, and also of course explains why we hear those "bleeps" on TV when we're watching certain shows, because especially younger kids don't understand that fully. I liked the "Bleep" episode, and I think it did a good job of explaining things.

Well I agree with Lynnie_lyn and I think it was more of a serious episode. I love that they showed how saying a swear word can really hurt somebody elses feelings and I thought it was a really good idea to have an episode based on that.

You made some points that I never thought of much... IMO it wasn't a good episode.

I don't really get the point of this episode...how are they suppose to teach kids not to swear if they only hear the *Bleep* sound. To me...I don't really think this shouldn't have been an episode.

When Franklin did this idea, they used a word that wasn't a swear word, but was nevertheless considered undesirable.

Not sure what Caillou episode you're referring to, but Franklin's word was "stupid." I enjoyed the story because I felt it made the point that regardless of whether the word is considered profane or not, it's worth the time to monitor the quality of the language you use.

I'll keep an eye out for it, then.

In any case, I still find it credible because the people who make these shows police the language that their characters use very carefully. When they did the story on Franklin, I found it 100% credible.
