Ok, you know how on a TV thers CC, well if you watch Arthur in C2 CC the Captioning is WAY WAY WAY! diferent!
    Example:

Arthur: "The scare you pants off books are so good I have read them everyware!

C2 Closed Caption: What kind of books do you like?
I like the "Scary club" books

    "Scary Club?" that's like calling TV.com "Televisionclub.com"

Remember the TV Free Week episode?? Brain was looking in his telescope and naming all the consellations. Then he looks at a TV and says "The Eel Of Fortune Show....Wait I must concentrate...." and then he goes back looking at the constellations... Here's what the caption says:

    Stars...
    More Stars...
    TV...
    No...
    TV Is Bad...
    More Stars...

and when somebody dreams, for example, it says [Binky Is Dreaming] and when he wakes up it says [Binky Stops Dreaming] or [Buster Is Immagining] and [Buster Stops Immagining]...

Oh look at this from "Arthur's big hit!"

D.W.:Imitates radio static D.W. Read to headquarters, sound barrier broken, what's my next mission general?

    but the CC says

    I am a pilot.

    My flight was a succsess

The following words were left out in the caption

D.W. Read. to. headquarters. sound. barrier. broken. what's. next. mission. general?

The only word they used in the CC.

    My.

The CC2 closed-captioning is a simplified version of the actual dialogue, designed for younger viewers who may not be able to understand the more complex sentences.

P.S.: Those that don't fit that bill (hopefully everyone here) should choose CC1.

Once I was watching "My Music Rules" in C2 closed captioning and I noticed that when Francine mentioned something about her dad playing his nose, the captions completly left that out, and when Arthur said, "You play your nose?", the captions didn't say anything. Also, in "Sue Ellen Chickens Out", Bouligard Poulinscy's name in C2 is changed to "Bo Smith". I've also noticed that season 9 episodes aren't available in C2.

I have made a test, and the CC2 captions block the learning proccess of the show.

    In other words; It's retarded.

Again, the trick is simply to make sure you have it on C1 and not C2. As for whether or not it "retards" the learning process, I really can't say. Obviously, someone connected with the show thought it was a good idea, but I can understand how some may see it that way.

I know that on "D.W. Thinks Big," when the Reverend says "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride," the CC2 reads, "You are now married. You may kiss now."
