Does it ever say what happened to Tommy and Timmy's parents? I'm guessing they died in a car accident when the twins were really young.... maybe thats why they're so reckless.

I was thinking the same thing, that the parents did pass away.  But the show never delved into that.

It's like Bear in the Big Blue House --- most if not all of the characters have no parents (though some have grandparents), but nobody ever breathes a word about it.

I don't know about that, because they did say that their parents travel a lot. Not they use to travel a lot. Besides maybe this just ties back to the every child's fantasy of not having any parents.

I don't recall a past episode in when they did explain what happened. I assume the same-they may have passed away.

Well, no but in the episode where D.W. took Tommy's backpack by mistake, she found items that their parents had given them. However these could have been left to them in the passing of their parents death.

Well if we ever do find out what happened you know that it would be title something like this. "In a very special episode of Arthur the truth about Mr. and Mrs. Tibble is revealed"

I am. They always get DW in trouble. Like in the episode where DW learns the F-word they tell her its a magic word that turns people into zombies. It was their fault that she got in trouble and it ended up getting Vicita in trouble too. (Oh, by the way can anyone tell me that ep. name?)
