"Happy Anniversary"

Mr. Ratburn shows a film about perspective and then assigns the class an essay about it. Arthur and Buster are disappointed to have homework on the weekend of the big Bionic Bunny / Dark Bunny special (in which everything will be revealed), but vow to complete it before the start of the special. Arthur, however, struggles with the assignment. Mr. and Mrs. Read are celebrating their tenth anniversary at a fancy restaurant. They're dropping Arthur off for Buster's sleepover and D.W. at Grandma Thora's. But car troubles leave everyone stranded. Things seemingly go from bad to worse when Arthur and D.W. get locked in a storage room in an old diner. They're disappointed, and a bit scared, but find inspiration in an old radio drama called "Kid Carter and his Sidekick Mistral."moreless

This is a two part episode and one of the best Arthur's in this series. (series 10) Ratburn has assinged the class lots of homework on the night that the darkbunny and bionic bunny special is on. Meanwhile Jane, and dave (arhtur's mom and dad) are planning to havethier aniversery at a fancy resteraunt. D.W is trying to find tin, once arthur tells her that the gift she made for her mom and dad form Aniversery is not made out of of tin but instead aluminum (or alunimoon as dw calls it). Everything is going well, excpet for arthur (who slept to long and didn't finish his story before the bionic bunny sho, and D.W who hasn't found tin, but jsut as there about to leave, Grandpa dave asks if he got hitch a ride to somewhere. They get lost, and their car breaks down, but they get help from a resteraunt. D.W and Arthur fight over a coin and get locked inside a room, meanwhile Dave, decides to cook a mela there with permission from on of the people at the resteraunt. ARthur and D.W manage to get out, and all goes well (including arhutr's report). The episode is also funny, becasue buster keeps eating his visual aid, for his report:)moreless

  • Finally It's Back On

    "Great"
I think that this episode of Arthur was good. It wasn't my favorite episode but I still liked it. I am just glad that there are new episodes airing. The repeats have been on for so long that I couldn't wait until the new episodes would start. I have been watching Arthur since it first came on ten years ago and I think that this was a good tenth anniversary episode. One thing I didn't like though was the fact that Arthur's voice was really high but overall I am glad that the show is back on and for the 10th season.moreless

  • TRIVIA (3)

    ADD TRIVIA
    • Carol Greenwald is promoted from Executive Producer to Executive-in-Charge. Stephanie Simpson is now an Executive Story Editor, along with Peter K. Hirsch.

    • Real-Kids Segment: The segment is changed from "And Now a Word from Us Kids" to "And Now a Word from Buster" for this episode. Buster presents the top ten reasons that were sent in for why kids like the show. In the order presented --- it's about friendship and family, Arthur has a wild imagination, Pal is a good dog who doesn't bite anyone, Buster eats a lot and reminds me of my cousin, I look like him, D.W. is my favorite because she's funnmy, he's an active kid, he teaches kids how to deal with everyday life and some of the characters are real. The top reason was he makes me laugh and cheers me up. Throughout this segment, some of the actual letters that were sent were shown. If you pause (or read quickly), you can read the full contents.

    • Francine reads the title card. It's the photo of Arthur's family, with an animated "10" logo indicating the show's tenth anniversary. In fact, this logo appears on all the title cards for this season. Maybe it's a reminder to look for hidden 10's as part of the Crazy 10's Scavenger Hunt.

  • QUOTES (5)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Arthur: (as Kid Carter, singing) End of the line / We're stuck in a mine / Just a matter of time before we're fryin'. (yodels)

    • D.W.: Tell me a story about the "Moronic Bunny" special you missed. Arthur: It's Bionic Bunny. And how could I tell you about the special if I didn't see it? D.W.: You can make it up. Here's what could have happened. (fantasy sequence music plays) Bubonic Bunny and that other bunny turn out to be twins who were separated at birth. One was stolen by an evil witch. The other was taken by a robot.

    • Arthur: What if I miss the opening of the special? That could be when all is revealed.

    • D.W.: (regarding Arthur's anniversary "present") That's it? All you're giving them is a card? Did you even make that yourself?

    • Buster: We're just specks of dust floating in space. (droops head and moans) My great works have all been for nothing. Arthur: Great works? Buster: Yeah. Like those eighteen hot dogs I ate at a fair. I won first place. Oh yeah --- and I also saved a cat.

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    ADD ALLUSIONS
    • When Arthur comments to D.W. that twenty minutes isn't all that long, she notes that it's "two time-outs." This references the story "Go to Your Room, D.W." in which she was sent to her room for a ten-minute timeout.

    • This episode make reference to a "Chuck Greenwald" at the Caribou Lodge. Carol Greenwald has been with the show-staff since the beginning, although whether or not she actually has a relation named "Chuck" is unknown.
