Three new power hitters join the Elwood City baseball team, The Grebes. Buster and Harry are huge fans and attend almost every game. But when the team begins to lose the championship, Buster learns the story about a decades-old curse that was set on the team, and wonders if he is the carrier of that curse, because the Grebes seem to lose every game he is at.

When he finally gets the bike, though, he finds that it's so nice that he wants to save it for a "special occasion." Despite his friends pleas that he should ride his nice new bike, he just polishes it and admires it. I think that this was an alright episode of Arthur. I didn't really like the stories in this episode that much. The first episode was about Buster and people like Muffy joining on the bandwagon when a sports team wins or loses. This story also had 3 of the players from the Boston Red Sox from 2005. This story to me was alright but it wasn't my favorite story. The second story was about Arthur and him learning how to use things now because if you wait you might not be able to do it later. I thought that this story was alright but it wasn't my favorite story.moreless

- How times change --- in the first season of the show, Arthur works hard to obtain $10 to buy Moon Boots. In "Arthur Changes Gears," Arthur saves to buy a fancy, an rather expensive bike, partly by doing chores, but also by cutting out things like games at the arcade and trips to the Sugar Bowl.

- The Grebes were introduced in the eighth season story "Bitzi's Breakup," in which viewers learned that Buster enjoys going to their games with Bitzi. - Some of what happens during the Grebes game is based on actual things that happened in Red Sox history. For example, in one of the games, a ball goes between the fielder's legs --- an allusion to Bill Buckner in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, Red Sox vs. Mets. This forced a Game 7, which the Red Sox lost.
