  • Finally the truth is revealed - in a confrontation to leave you reeling!

    9.5
The last episode in series 1 of the Braithwaites definately leaves you wanting more. The series has built up over the last 5 episodes to the earth-shattering confrontation that is inevitable, and the resulting episode doesn't disappoint!

The episode begins where the last left off, with Virginia beside herself over the terrible fate that had befallen her journalist tormentor. For the first time in the series you find yourself feeling sorry for Virginia, as she just can't seem to get anything right. Virginia's weak points through the whole series are Meghann, and her mother, and it is her concern for Alison that results in her becoming a more likable character occasionally.

Sarah also undergoes somewhat of a character change in this episode, as she struggles with the overwhelming choice of whether or not to keep her baby. Again, you find yourself feeling sorry for Sarah, as it becomes clear that she is still a very young girl, who has just made some bad choices. When she decides to keep the baby, you almost feel like cheering her on, and you definately want to jump in there and give her a hug!

Despite the incredible build up to this episode, the episode itself had a very different pace to the others in the season. It was a more emotional episode that created as many loose ends as it tied up!

The highlight of the episode is most definately the confrontation between Alison and David. The acting of both Amanda and Peter is sensational - and when the mess hits the fan the emotion and drama is incredible. As a viewer, however, you can't help but feel a sense of relief that finally everyone knows what is going on, and the secrets (at least for the moment) can be revealed.

Ultimately, it is a fantastic season final, and incredible cliff-hanger for the next season... Nothing about the Braithwaites ever disappoints and I remember (as a viewer) hanging out for the next season. So, as always, At Home With the Braithwaites is worth every second spent watching... an absolute classic!moreless
