The Incredible Shrinking Betty / Friends for Eternity
AIRED:
The Incredible Shrinking Betty: An evil, short villain by the name of Enormo, is able to shrink Betty, Sparky, and X-5 with his Reverso-Magnifying Ray. The trio then end up trapped in the fur of Enormo's large pet dog, Gryphon. The now incredibly small three must battle this newly gigantic enemy and stop Enormo from shrinking everything in the universe! Friends for Eternity: It's Mother's Day on Earth and Betty plans on treating her Mom to a special day, but unfortunately gets called off on a seemingly routine mission to retrieve some crystals on a small remote planet inhabited by a strange little creature named Slirps who has a unique and potentially dangerous connection to the environment surrounding him. Maximus, discovering Betty is held up on this small planet, travels there to try to finish her once and for all.moreless

  • Pretty good episode

Its good enough that I can remember enough to write this review months afterwards and know what I'm talking about. Thats good enough for me.

Enormo was a bit of a disappointment, not quite as small as I expected. I thought we were talking like Doll size here. Shame, that would have made it quite a bit funnier. But anyway, I suppose every show has to have a shrinking episode and this one was it. As far as shrinking episodes go, it was mediocre, the part where they got trapped on the dog was a little unusual but like I said, the villain size was a disappointment. Parts of it were predicatable.

I honestly can't remember the subplot so I take that to mean it really wasn't good.

Now the second part was a good deal better. Mother's day, very sweet but when you try and cram so many holiday episodes into one season, you must wonder what is wrong with the writers. Now that I look back, there are four holiday episodes, not very good for any season. This was maybe the second weakest of all of them. But, thats not what this review is about.

Slirp was cute! The connection to the environment was quite inspired and unusual, that deserves recognition because I don't believe I've ever seen that done in a show before and I've seen alot of shows where it could happen.

Trust Maximus to step in to take advantage of something so cruel, simply not right. This is one of the episodes where the motive is much eviler than some of the previous ones. Execution? Needs some work obviously since he didn't succeed.moreless
