  • The Earth King

The Earth King was a really awesome episode of Avatar The Last Airbender. I really enjoyed watching this episode because it was full of action, drama, intrigue, and surprises. I thought it was exciting and fun to watch how Toph and Aang gained access to the Earth King with Earthbending. It was amazing how ignorant the King was of outside affairs, and I was glad to see that he was curious and open minded. The Dai Lee continue with their own plots. Zuko has come down with a mysterious illness and has disturbing dreams. I look forward to the next episode!!!!!!!
  • Woah...one of the best episodes in this series yet.

This episode rocked all. The action sequence when the gang was going to visit the Earth king, was one of the best fighting scenes I\'ve seen in this whole series. Katara had some awesum waterbendering and toph had some kickass Earthbending. At first i thought the earth king was a git. He was a private person. He just lived in the palace 24/7 and he was away from all the war. You could almost consider him as a little kid listening to his parents. Until Aang came and saved him from his dream world and got him into reality. Damn the dy lee from keeping the Earth king away from the war. Whats there problem?

Do they really want the fire nation to win the war against them? Azula has some issues, stealing The kyoshi warriors outfit. Overall this episode kicked some ass and i can\'t wait to check out tha season finale =]

OH my goodness gracious!!!!This was a mixture of both hillarity and siriousnes. And poor Zuko bu this visions thingy's were weird but that's to be expected wouldn't ya think. But why are they splitting up, nothing good ever comes from splitting up!!!Even if your not in a scary. Then now were going to have to see what's going on with all of them.I don't know how this is going to be but I really loved this episode. And I wonder where Zuko's journey/sickness is going to land him. Peace Out!!!!!

Avatar really knows how to handle the episodes before the season finale. In the first season we were taken at the fronts of the final water tribe, and now we're at foot of the last great earth kingdom. It was comical how the earth king was completely ignorant of everything that has been going on outside of his walls, almost as if the first half of the episode was served to be the comic relief. But then the building blocks for an exciting season finale were stacked with the crew splitting up for personal reasons, Zuko facing his destiny, and then the infiltration of Azula and her comrades of the earth kingdom. The ending gave you that silence before the storm shiver that you just can't wait for the next episode!
  • Aang and the gang convince the Earth King of the war. Meanwhile, Zuko gets sick.

My favorite part of this episode was when Aang and the gang are running up the stairs to get to the Earth King. The Dai Li is there and they try to stop them. The kids keep running and manage to get in the sitting room. They expose the leader of the Dai Li, and convince the Earth King of the war. Meanwhile, Zuko gets dreadfully sick on his way back from Lake Laogai. Iroh tells him that the illness is from the turmoil inside him, and when he awakes, he will know what he must do. In the end, we see three Kyoshi warriors coming to guard the Earth King. They are Mai, Azula, and Ty Lee.

This was a great episode, but there was practically any action in this episode. The great thing about this episode is Zuko's dream, with the whole "Fire Lord Zuko" thing, that was really good. The Aang, Katara, and Sokka thing with Long Feng and the Earth King was really good too. The real shocker was at the end, when you saw the "Kyoshi Warriors" but obviosly they weren't the Kyoshi Warriors, they were Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee. I was wondering what happened to Suki and the other Kyoshi Warriors. Overall though, I give this great episode a good episode with a rating of 9.3.

Less than an hour after the events of "Lake Laogai," Aang and his friends are on a small island recovering, and discussing what they should do. Katara and Toph both want to leave Ba Sing Se, as they have found Appa and thus have no reason to remain there. On the other hand, Sokka wants to stay to inform the Earth King of all that is taking place within Ba Sing Se, as well as the approaching solar eclipse, as this was their entire reason for heading towards Ba Sing Se in the first place. Aang agrees with him. Ultimately, the others agree to do so, and all four ride Appa back to Ba Sing Se's upper ring, and manage to break into the palace, tearing their way through the Royal Guards despite a strong defense.

Meanwhile, Iroh and Zuko arrive back at their apartment after their escapade at Lake Laogai. Iroh congratulates his nephew on freeing the Avatar's bison, stating that it was the right thing to do. However, Zuko does not respond to this comment, instead he tells Iroh that he doesn't feel right and then collapses, unconscious, to the ground, Iroh rushing to his aid.

At the palace, Aang and his friends finally reach the Earth King's throne room, where they are encountered by Long Feng and many Dai Li, who stand before the Earth King as a last defense. They attempt to inform the King about the war, of which he knows nothing, and Long Feng's conspiracy, but have difficulty due to their position as well as his trust in his advisor. Long Feng attempts to arrest them, until the Earth King realizes that Aang is the Avatar; he then decides it best to at least hear out Aang and his friends after seeing his pet bear, Bosco, acting friendly towards the child.

Aang goes on to explain the various events going on that the Earth King is unaware of: a war outside Ba Sing Se's walls, Long Feng and the Dai Li's conspiracy, the imprisonment of Appa, and the brainwashing of Jet and countless other individuals. Long Feng denies all the charges brought against him, even claiming that he has never even encountered a Sky Bison. As the Earth King ponders over the apparently unlikely allegations, Long Feng whispers in his ear that Aang and his friends are part of an "anarchist cell" attempting to overthrow him. The Dai Li bind the group with earthbending, and The Earth King orders the group to be detained, but Sokka has an epiphany, and with Aang's Airbending, exposes a bite mark that Long Feng received from Appa in their encounter at Lake Laogai. Long Feng claims it's a birth mark, but Aang then produces Appa to compare the mark to the bison's teeth. The Earth King is unconvinced of the larger accusations of conspiracy in the city, but expresses a willingness to investigate more closely into the matter. Long Feng frowns sourly at all this, and shuffles off quietly with his Dai Li.

Meanwhile, Iroh watches over Zuko, whose condition appears only to be worsening. He is feverish and incredibly thirsty. At the same time, Aang's friends and the Earth King ride Ba Sing Se's train to Lake Laogai. The Earth King states that he has livedhis life in isolation, having never been outside the palace before in his life. When they arrive at Lake Laogai, they find that the entrance to the subterranean facility, and likely the entire facility itself, has collapsed. They decide to show the Earth King the outer wall, which was earlier penetrated by the Fire Nation's drill, but the King has had enough, and decides to return to the palace. Sokka quickly convinces him to continue the investigation, however, by letting him ride on Appa.

Zuko dreams and hallucinates: in the first dream, he sees himself as the Fire Lord. Two dragons, one blue, the other red, coil around his throne and whisper advice to him. The blue dragon, speaking in Azula's voice, tries to persuade "Fire Lord" Zuko to rest, while the red dragon, in Iroh's voice, tells him not listen to the blue dragon and to instead "get out of here." The scene then crumbles around Zuko and the blue dragon attacks, fading to darkness as Zuko sees images of his vanished mother calling out for help. In both Dreams he is missing his scar.

The Earth King arrives at the outer wall, and is shocked to see the remains of the Fire Nation's drill leading right up to and through Ba Sing Se's outer wall. Long Feng makes a hurried attempt to pass the drill off as part of a construction project (even when Katara pointed out the Fire Nation insignia, Long Feng claims it's imported) but the Earth King is clearly unconvinced, and orders the Dai Li to arrest Long Feng. The two Dai Li agents accompanying Long Feng share a conspiratorial glance, and then bind Long Feng's arms with metal manacles. When they return to the palace, he also agrees, after some persuasion to support Sokka's plan to invade the Fire Nation on the day of the solar eclipse (dubbed by Sokka The Day of Black Sun), when the Fire Nation will be helpless.

The Earth King's top generals, the Council of Five, raid Long Feng's office and discover files about every person in Ba Sing Se, including Aang and his friends. Included is the note from Guru Pathik that was attached to Appa's horn prior to his capture, informing Aang that he can teach him information about his powers, and even how to control the Avatar State; a letter from Toph's mother, saying she is in the city and wants to meet her daughter; and an intelligence report giving the location of Water Tribe warriors led by Hakoda, Sokka and Katara's father.

At Iroh and Zuko's apartment, Iroh informs his nephew that he is going through a spiritual crisis because letting Appa go went so strongly against his self-image. Iroh tells Zuko that he is going through a phase of metamorphosis that will be a hard toll on him, but that in the end he will emerge as the person (the "beautiful prince," as Iroh said) he was truly meant to be.

Elated by the news they have all just received, Aang and his friends try to decide what actions to take. Katara suggests, albeit reluctantly, that group split up. Aang initially objects, but, finding no other reasonable course to take, all of them agree. Sokka, however, sadly states that he will stay in the palace, as the Earth King will need guidance in the days to come. Katara quickly cuts him off, knowing that her brother's desire to meet their father is greater than her own, and states that she will stay with the Earth King instead. Thus their actions are decided- Aang drops off Sokka with Hakoda's group before proceeding to the Eastern Air Temple on Appa, Toph will go to meet her mother, and finally Katara will stay behind to assist the Earth King. The next morning, Aang and Sokka prepare to make their journey. Before departing, Aang attempts to tell Katara his true feelings for her, but is interrupted at the most untimely of moments by Sokka. The Earth King, while bidding farewell to Aang and Sokka, receives word that a group of Kyoshi warriors will be arriving. Sokka, in a moment of excitement, realizes that the group must include Suki, and falls off of Appa. He quickly recovers, and vouches that the Kyoshi warriors are strong and trustworthy allies. The Earth King responds that he will welcome them with open arms. Katara hugs Aang and kisses him on the cheek in farewell, getting a blush from the Avatar in return. Toph expresses a rare moment of compassion for her friends, and all four engage in a group hug (Sokka reluctantly) before the boys take off.

Zuko awakens from his dreams, and, seeing that Iroh is asleep, goes to the bathroom to splash some water on his face. When he looks up at the mirror, he is shocked to see himself without his scar, replaced by the shaved head and blue arrow tattoos of an Airbender, making him sharply resemble Aang. Zuko then wakes up-the entire sequence has been another dream. He reaches up and touches his scar, as if to assure himself that the blemish is still there.

Aang and Sokka make their way over the plains surrounding Ba Sing Se on Appa, convinced that things are finally going positively for them. However, back in the city, the circumstances take a suddenly negative turn. In prison, a Dai Li agent delivers Long Feng his meal, but also quietly reassures that the organization retains loyalty to him, and not the King. Meanwhile, Toph goes to meet her mother, entering an upper-ring building that she finds empty. She enters, but only suspects trickery at the last minute, and is captured in a metal coffin. Master Yu and Xin Fu emerge from the shadows, and prepare to return Toph to the Bei Fong family so that they may retrieve their reward. Afterwards, the Kyoshi Warriors arrive before the Earth King, who formally welcomes them. Unknown to the king, however, they are actually Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee, disguised in Kyoshi garments and face paint.

Well this was a very good episode and a perfect one to lead into a finale. It was an ideal choice because of the cliffhangers it left. I think there were like, six? Maybe… I don't know. Anyway, the evil Long Feng is finally arrested. But like the good show Avatar is, the Dai Lee were still loyal to him. With the arrest of Long Feng, the Earth King gains control of his great city, but he should soon discover leading a nation capital isn't so easy. Long Feng's arrest also comes with the things he has been holding back from the Gaang, in this case, letters. Katara and Sokka get a letter from their father, Hakoda, Toph gets one from her mother, and Aang gets one from Guru Pathik. The members of the Gaang decide to go their own way with the surfacing of these letters, Katara to stay and assist the Earth King, Sokka to his dad, Toph to meet her mother who is staying in Ba Sing Se, and Aang to finish his spiritual training with the Guru. After all this has taken place, the Earth King receives a letter from the Kyoshi Warriors and Sokka informs him that they can be trusted. But of course, Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee are impersonating them, and have plans to finally take the Earth Kingdom for themselves. All in all, a very nice episode.

I liked this episode A LOT. The beginning is packed with action as the Gaang assault the Earth King's palace. this is the reason it doesn't get a full 10 however. I mean, 4 kids took out the Earth King's royal guard? all of them? However, small detail. Whatever. Anyway, There was a lot of good earthbending in this episode that I liked a lot. Earthbending is my favorite (Hung Gar... spl?) style. After the Gaang decimate the Royal Guard, they confront the Earth King and his adviser, the sinister Long Feng and the Dai Li. They find it hard to plead their case until Sokka shows the King Long Feng's mark he gained from trying to fight Appa. (fool.) The King agrees to see what they have to show him, and it is soon revealed that not only has he never been outside the inner ring, he has never been outside the palace! When they entrance to Lake Laogi has disappeared, however, the King becomes skeptical. Only by being promised a ride on Appa is he convinced to go to the outer wall, where he claims "no earth king has ever been to the outer wall!" They soon find that the Dai Li could not cover up the drill left there after the attempted attack on the wall. Long Feng weakly attempts to explain, but the king sees right through him and orders the Dai Li to arrest him. At the end of the episode, everything seems fine. But it is revealed that the Kyoshi warriors have been defeated and replaced by Ozai's Angels and are now in disguise in Ba Sing Se. Oh no!

I really enjoyed this episode. There wasn't much action at the end, but there was a ton of that at the beginning, as aang and the others battle there way through to see the earth king. Meanwhile, Zuko has a spiritual crises, as he undergoes many dreams. Zuko has a dream about a blue and red dragon. The blue dragon is azula, and the red dragon is iroh. Then the blue dragon says, "sleep, just like mother", then Ursa comes out and says, "Zuko, help me". Then the dream ends. After examining the drill, the earth king orders the dai li to arrest long feng. In the end, Aang takes sokka to see his dad, katara stays with the earth king to plan the invasion for the day of black sun, Toph is captured by xin fu and master yu, And Azula is dressed as a kyoshi warrior, and enters ba sing se.

This episode really was something amazing, there was a lot of cool fighting (bending) scenes, good news, and also bad ones...

The episode begins right after the gaang got appa back, thay maneged to scape form BSS but know they have to go back and try to talk to the earth king...

Just in the beginning there was some very cool fighting scene, while the gaang make they way through the guards. When they finally reach the king they found another challange: try to make the earth realize that long feng wasnt a his side and that the world is in war. They try some ways to do that but finally make it when the king sees the FN drill that tried to invade BSS, the king then rrest long feng and dicedes to help the gaang to invade the FN in the day of black sun, but what they dont know is that their own city is already bieng invade by the FN.

the gaang finally have appa back, and according to Sokka, theyr on a roll! but, as katara mentions, one hour of good fortune after weeks of bad luck isnt really a roll. stil, they invade the palace and in an attempt to see the earth king they produce one of the best fight scenes in the series! when they see the earth king, he doesnt believe them, btu when long feng lets slip that aangs the avatar, its all starts going good again, and he starts to trust them. they take him round ba sing se, and show him all the stuff thats been happening, in an attempt to proove to him that the war is real. and long feng is arrested by the Dai Li for Crimes Against the Earth Kingdon.

This is where it gets really kl. The gaang receive bits of information from general How. Aang gets a message from a Guru at the Eastern Air Temple, Toph gets news that her mus in Ba Sing Se, and taht she wants to meet her, Katara and Sokka get news abotu Hakoda, their father, who is just outside the city. they decided that its time to split up, Katara stays with the Earth King, Aang is going to the Air Temple, and is going to drop sokka off on the way, and Toph is going to see her mum. Upon leaving they get news of the Kyoshi Warriors in the city.

    Twists coming up.

Toph walks into the house where her mum is, and gets trapped by Xin Fu and Master Yu.

Long feng is in prison, and a dai li agent walks past his cell, and he whispers- 'the dai li are still loyal to YOU long feng.

The earth king welcomes the three kyoshi warriors, and they lift their heads to reveal who they really are- Azula, Mai and Ty Lee are now inside Ba Sing se.

cliffhanger!!!! awewsome episode, its leaves you hanging, and your dying to know what comes next!

Now that aang and the gang have appa back, they decide that there is nothing between them, so now they can tell the earth king all baout long feng and his plots. They fly to Earth Kingdom, and immediatly are in a battle between the earth kingdom soldiers and them selves. Toph Does an Outstanding job, aaang does an exellent job along with katara. after fighting ther way into the earthking, and breaking down the fancy door, they stand before the earth king. the Earth king gives them a chance to speak, and aang tells long feng all about long feng stealing appa, and how he is trying to control this city, and how a war with the firenation is going on, and long feng is hiding it from you. The Earth king only believes the appa thing, so aang decides to take him to lake laogai. but when toph uncovers the passage, it was destroyed by the dai lee! The earth king thinks this is a waste of tim. Sokka does some quick thinking and gets the earth king to come to the outer wall. when the gaang and the earth king get to the outer wall, it still has the drill stuck in it from Azula's failed attack. the earth king now knows about the war, and that long feng was hiding it from him. he has long feng arrested. after they go back to the palace, Toph gets a letter from her mom in bab sing se, and sokka and katara get a letter from there dad, and aang gets a letter to go see the guru. Toph goes to the adress on the paper, but is captured by xin fu and master wei. The dai lee are loyal to long feng, and Azula, mai, and ty lee come to the earth king dressed in the kyodhi warriors cloths saying that she is here to protect him.
  • With the family reunited and "on a roll", Aang takes action to warn the Earth King of the conspiracy in Ba Sing Se and to tell him the plan for invading the Fire Nation.

The episode opens on an island in the middle of Lake Laogai only hours after the previous episode's conclusion. Sokka and Aang convince the girls to fly to the Earth King's palace and tell him everything they know - the conspiracy of the Dai Li and the eclipse that will leave the Fire Nation powerless.

When the children fly near the palace grounds, they found the guards very well prepared with "surface-to-air rocks" which Appa and Aang must evade and destroy. Once Aang lands with a bang, one of the series's best action sequences commences as the group fights its way into the palace, laying waste to the guards. Toph and Katara both display powerful, beautifully animated bending prowess in this attack that makes some fans(okay, maybe just me) squeal in the middle of the show...all to the tune of great music, as usual.

Once they've gotten into the palace, the group struggles to get the Earth King to trust them over the manipulative Long Feng. The Earth King begins to trust them, but does not believe there's a conspiracy until he is shown proof. With Long Feng "long gone" and under arrest, the gang begins to plan the invasion with the Earth King when they discover letters the Dai Li had intercepted.

Meanwhile, Zuko, conflicted over his action in the lake, falls ill and begins a spiritual crisis. He sees several dreams and visions involving his mother, sister, uncle, and the Avatar. During this metamorphosis, Iroh guides him, voiced by Greg Baldwin. Many people, including big Avatar fans, do not realize the switch from the deceased Mako to Baldwin in this scene, a testament to the great voice acting.

Aang reads the letter which Guru Pathik attached to Appa and decides to travel to the Eastern Air Temple. Toph receives a letter from her mother, who is in the city and wants to meet her. Sokka and Katara read an intelligence report and decide that their father is nearby; Katara volunteers to stay in the city and plan the invasion while Sokka can see his father. They eventually receive news that the Kyoshi Warriors have arrived. Aang departs on Appa to drop Sokka off at Chameleon Bay, then continue on to the Eastern Air Temple. Toph goes to meet her mother. The Earth King goes to meet the Kyoshi Warriors as they arrive.

With everything seemingly going well, wonderful writing comes into play. Several uplifting, great things are paralleled by ominous revelations and saddening events. Deception runs rampant as several characters turn out to be exactly what they aren't expected to be. In the end, this episode is an excellent set-up for the following two-part series finale. After watching this one, viewers feel an "I must see the next episode NOW." sort of enthusiasm.
  • A pivotal, exciting episode. Definitely one to go into the Avatar episode Hall of Fame.

A pivotal, exciting episode. Definitely one to go into the Avatar episode Hall of Fame.

This episode featured Sokka ACTUALLY NOT being a pessimist. It also featured an awesome fight scene at the very beginning of the episode. It proved that four kids could beat the three hundred earth kingdom soldiers charged with the task of gaurding the palace. The king should really rethink the people he uses to guard his palace.

Anyways, this is pivotal episode in which the GAang manages to convince the Earth King that Long Feng was conspiring to control him. One mistake that they made, however, was they did not tell the king to disband the Dai Li.

As this episode draws to a conclusion, everything seem to be going well. However, three big problems arise at the end that really set up for the season finally: the Dai Li are still loyal to the now imprisoned Long Feng, Ttph has been captured by Xin Fu and Master Yu, and Azula, Mai, Ty Lee, have infiltrated Ba Sing Se disguised as the Kyoshi Warriors. A great way to keep us hanging on a thread. A true piece of genius, kudos to the Avatar team.
  • After watching the fighting sequence of the gAang taking out all of those Earth Kingdom soldiers, who says they need an army?

Even though I thought Avatar: The Last Airbender couldn't get any better with it's action sequences because they seemed great enough; it did. The "Earth King" is a fine example of that. Katara's waterbending, Toph and Aang's earthbending, as well as Aang's waterbending and his airbending. This episode is where you really start to see Aang using the other bending techniques that he's learned throughout the whole two seasons. The way they all fight, it really makes you think if they need an Earth Kingdom army, or if they can take the Fire Nation on their own. Those kids can really kick some serious butt!

i really liked this episode, it had action it had suspense, humor. it also had alot of things happen in it. well any way i'll start with zuko. poor zuko got sick, luckily he seemed ok in the end. so yea i noticed how thin he looked and i was like dang he lost alot of weight! you could see his ribs!! guess thats from being a fugative, but iroh hasnt even lost any that i can tell. his dreams were different, his sister was in one, "sleep just like mother" ?!?!?! what did she mean by that?!?! just makes me want to know more about what happened to her, i lhope they tell us soon! ha ha ha when he woke up and went to the bath room he had aangs arrow! i swear my eyes must have popped out of my head when i saw that! we also saw zuko with out his scar... im not sure if i like it or not but it might be cuz im so use to him with one, he wasnt bad looking without it... any way on to the aang gang! the fight in the begining was majorly awsome!!! and aangs face as he hit that rock comeing towards them when they were on appa was so freaky, i like his kick a** face! any way you had some good bending going on there katara kicked but with the jumping over the bridge and stuff. and i really liked the turning the stairs into a slide thing, way cool and when toph smashed everyone into the ceiling! one thing i didnt like was how katara and sokka kept saying sorry, i really didnt see a point in that. well i liked the earth king alot he was really nice, and i loved his bear. "long fong(i think thats what hi name was) is long gone! man i've been waiting to use that one!" that had to be the best line in this whole episode. so at the end they get letters and they are split up which i thought was going to be interesting at first. so aang went to the guru and he tryed to tell katara he liked her and i was glad when sokka interupted but i think katara acctually knows more than she lets on. katara staying to help with the war planing was stupid sokka would be way better but i understand that he wanted to see his father but still. yea so right when he said three kyoshi warriors i knew it was azula otherwise they wouldnt have been so spasific(cant spell) about there only being three and sure enouph i was right, which basiclly proves that suki died. poor sokka he has no luck! he kinda reminds me of zuko. and toph got caught by those guy that were looking for her, i had been wondering where they had gone to. well anyway it was a pretty depressing episode and the di lee are not loyal to the king. its was just all very sad.
  • This was one of the few good eps I've seen. The fighting to invade the palace was PRETTY GOOD ALTHOUGH IT SHOULD OF BEEN MORE VIOLENT. There also should of been more guards aroung the earth king as well.

It shouldn't of been possible to keep the 100 year war a secret from the royal family for 100 years. Especially since long feng is probably not over 40. Fights were good especially when katara used the water whip tech to take out those Dai Li. Sokka wasn't very helpful sadly. Toph showed her ability to easily handle a large group by defending her way through. which aang was able to copy and help block as well. It was perfect of how nick is mistreating avtar and making a battle nothing more than a school tussle. There should of been way more damage considering how powerful the dai li are. the dai li should of used their finger bullets from different angles pinning toph and them into an earth sphere/corner. then it wouldn't of been difficult for them to win. Ohterwise besides the nonviolence it was one of the best eppies that i've seen. but the action should of been morel ike when mai almost killed aang with that shuriken in return to omashu( which is now New Ozai). I think it shouldn't of been that easy to infiltrate one of the most highly guarded palaces in the world. Obviously long feng allowed them to enter or something.
  • Not as good as Lake Laogai but nice action and stuff like that.

This episode was a good start to a season finale. Basically the gang goes to tell the earth king about the war to gain his support and Long Feng gets conquered in the end. That sums it up, but the reason I gave it this score is for the kick butt action when they get to the earth king. I mean Katara doing the double water whip and Toph slamming all those Dai Lee on the ceiling with amazing earth bending? Awesome! Also when the gang all came up with the weapons when they barged into the earth king's door that was cool too. So I thought this was also a very superb episode.
  • A great episode, but practically no action.

Overall though, I give this great episode a good 9.3.

As soon as this episode started, there was action. A great showing of bending by 'Team Avatar', and of course humour thrown in to. It made you feel like now that Appa is back, they are unstoppable. It's good to finally see them working so well together, and winning. It was great to see the Earth King go on their side, but them wham, the "warriors" show up and destory some hope that we have that it will be a surprise about the eclispe. I do hope that Zuko will go the the right side, and hopefully be the one to train Aang in firebending.

Just as my title says, this is what Avatar is. Character development is just as great, but this is what makes Avatar exciting. The first 5 minutes was probably one of the best fight scenes on the show, although it wasn't really a fight. But, we get to see Toph's great earthbending abilities, Aang's great bending, Katara's amazing waterbending, and SOkka's amazing running skills. Also, I thought this episode was ironic in a way that the Earth King was some young guy who didn't look like a king at all, unlike Bumi, a really old guy who definetely could be king. But the end of this episode was great, and almost tossed you off the cliff you were already hanging on. A great episode, a great installment, a great pre-finale episode.
  • Who needs an army when you have got the gAng?

    9.5
    "Superb"
Okay, this episode took me be surprise at least with the fighting scenes. The gAng are constantly on the "we the Earth King's support"bandwagon. But after seeing them taking out the Earth King's guards I say who needs the army. Evidently the Fire Nation. Either they are just that good or the Earth guards really need to train more. I am inclined to think the first. The exposing the Dai Lee was interesting but I'd have to say the Zuko dream sequence was something to behold. I absolutely loved it. It certainly gave us some insight into Zuko's inner turmoil all caused by his choice. A very good episode in the terms of bending action and Zuko's character devolpment.
  • The Earth King rocks

Well The Earth King I find is my new fave character on the show. I like guys like him generally the type of guys with their own sense of humor like in this qoute:

Earth King:Sorry but I must trust my advisor

    *Bosco licks Aang

Earth King:Though Bosco seems to like him

And there's something about the way he described his door that made me laugh but as for his personality he seems like a nice and intelligent guy, but can be a little naive and at moments a little bit immature, but he's a really great guy I just wonder what will happen to Ba-Zing-Ze (well besides the fact Azula took it over)

P.S. I can't believe the Earth King's name is Kuei
