  • The Waterbending Master

The Waterbending Master was a perfect, awesome, and entertaining episode of Avatar The Last Airbender. I really enjoyed watching this episode because we finally meet the Northern Water Tribe. I liked seeing the Northern Water Tribe Water Benders using their skills to apprehend Appa and the gang. I think the Fire Nation must be crazy with their new plans. This episode had lots of character development for Katara as she had to prove herself to the Master Water Bender, and for Zuko who's mission has taken a turn. I really like how layered and complex this series is and this episode is definitely a highlight. I also thought the city of the Northern Tribe was amazing, and the characters were intiguing!!!!!!!
  • Wow, fired on all cylinders and failed to disappoint.

The writing in this episode was just absolutely fantastic. In just one sitting, the writing in this episode was able to knock down a couple of birds with just one stone, and it worked beautifully. It's pretty neat how it foreshadowed Sokka's love relationship with the princess, explain it with the situation that Master Pakku had before with Sokka and Katara's grandmother, and then use that to help convince Pakku to finally take Katara as one of his students. The writing is just so brilliant and articulated so well, it makes you wonder why there aren't anymore cartoons with such good writing. Not to mention that there is also the stuff going on with Zuko and Admiral Jao that is also interesting in itself, plus the fight between Pakku and Katara is arguably the best up to this episode. Best episode in the show so far.
  • Aang, Katara, and Sokka finally discover the North Pole. They are thwarted, however, when they learn that girls are not allowed to learn waterbending.

This episode was absolutely amazing!!!! I loved every minute of it! When Aang and Katara find the Waterbending Master, they ask for lessons. The Master agrees to teach Aang, but not Katara. He says he doesn't teach girls how to waterbend. Katara is furious, and makes Aang promise to teach her what he learns. They are caught, however, and Aang is forbidden to be taught any more waterbending. Katara is furious, and confronts the Master. She forces him to fight against her. It was amazing!!! Katara certainly did hold her own. The Master was impressed, and studied her more closely. He discovered the necklace she was wearing to be one he made for her grandmother when they were to be wed several decades ago. Upon seeing this necklace and Katara's skills, he promises to teach her waterbending.
  • Two words: awesome episode!

Well after the good times at the Northern Air Temple, Aang and his friends venture out to the North Pole for homeland, not only is it a good place and has fine buildings with a lot of neat activities going on, but it is also fabulous for having some of the best water benders in the world teach you their techniques! The Water Bending Master however, is a real snob and does not care well for them at all, he's also a real poophead if you want to say Aang's words about him. Fortunately towards the end he isn't bad after all and becomes friendly. He is a good water bender and is willing to give out advice after seeing Katara's necklace and telling him about Gran Gran or other members of her family. This is also the last episode and chapter of this book before our last two finale episodes and chapters for book one: Water. Before the battle begins and Zhao arrives, Sokka meets his first love either in this episode or the next episode where in the last episode for this book she gets turned into the moon! Talk about a tearjerker. Zuko will also be coming for them soon. Now some real action and epicness begins when Aang and his friends are at the North Pole!
  • This episode is another word for perfect.

This is one of the top episodes from season 1. It is a great way to start the finale. This episode is adventourous, has romance, and is exciting. The Fire Nation is launching an attack on the Water Tribe. The Gaang must figure out how to prevent the Water Tribe from falling. Meanwhile, Zuko must try to capture the Avatar before anyone else does. I would give this episode higher than a 10 if I could. That's how good the episode is. It leaves a cliffhanger and it will make viewers want to keep watching the rest of the series.
  • The Waterbendering Master Rocks!

This one of my most favorite episodes ever in the entire season. Because Aang, Sokka, and Katara finally make it to the Northern Water tribe. So now Aang and Katara finally get to learn how to Waterbend. But there is one problem Katara can not learn because she is a girl. I just do not get that because it does not matter what your gender is, but it is a custom does not want to learn waterbending because Katara can not learn with him. So he gave up being a student to his master. So then Katara challenged Aang's master to a fight. Now this is my favorite part because I love waterbending that is why this is my favorite episode. After a few minutes of fighting Katara loses. Then Katara found out that Aang's master was suppose to marry Katara's Grandmother. And then Sokka and his soon to be girlfriend went to go and fly on Appa. But they noticed black snow falling. That one thing FIREBENDERS WERE COMING.
  • After traversing the entire globe to reach the Northern Water Tribe, Team Avatar finally realizes its goal upon arrival at the Northern Water Tribe.

This episode can be summed up in one word: relief. After seventeen enjoyable episodes, our young heroes finally arrive at the Northern Water Tribe. The visuals in this episode are stunning. The design of the Northern Water Tribe is aesthetically pleasing. A bustling metropolis carved out of the icy terrain, the city bares some similarities to the Italian city of Venice. The new characters introduced in this episode are a welcome addition to the Avatar world. Especially entertaining is Aang's new water bending master, Pakku. The exposition into the Tribe's traditional gender roles feels mildly preachy, but it is not too distracting. Overall, this is a good episode and a perfect setup for the amazing finale.
  • The aang gaang finally gets to the northern water tribe and Katara shows a few new moves.

This is more of a Katara episode where she finds more about herself. She wants to learn from a waterbending but master but pakku wont teach her cause she's a girl. the other main characters arent seen as much. but sokka meets princess yue and they seem to like each other. aang begins to waterbend learning from pakku but is having trouble. but what mabe this episode so good was the fighting seen with katara and pakku and we see that katara has advanced in her waterbending. and that pakku was almost married to katara's grandmother. although in the end of season 3 they do get married.

9.7/10. the gaang arrive at the north pole and aang's teacher is gonna be master pakku. katara also wants to learn waterbending except pakku said that the tradition is that girls learn water healing not waterbending. then we find out that the necklace katara was wearing is the same necklace that pakku carved 60 years ago. it was said that pakku was katara's and sokka's grandmother's fiance except gran gran left to the south pole. now pakku is gonna teach katara waterbending because of their tradition was a little sexist. blah blah blah blah blah now i am done. wait not yet...
  • I thought this episode was a perfect introduction to the last few episodes of season 1. With a perfect balance of excitement and humor, this episode sure got the job done.

    9.4
    "Superb"
The Waterbending Master was the episode where the gang finally reaches the North Pole. It is in itself a big episode just for that. But the writers made it even more significant when they dealt with the big dilemma of actually finding a master for Aang, and the less than complimentary custom that women couldn't waterbend. The excitement and frustration of this episode was very well manipulated by the writers. But it didn't lose that classic Avatar feeling of having at least a little bit of humor. Some moments were very funny too. So the episode was very well balanced, and it was a perfect intro to the end of the season.

When Aang and the gang got to the Northen Water Tribe, they came insearch for a water bending master. They are successful in search, but then they find out that no girls are eligable to water bend. Katara gets furious, and decides to challenge Master Pakku, knowing that she is going to loose. She has a herrific battle with him, causing her to find out that Master Pakku, is Katara's Grandfather. In the end, she is eligable to water bend with the rest of the men, and then a enormous war accurs between the fire nation and the water tribe. I gove this a 9.9 overall

When Aang tries to find the north pole, he is found by the north pole instead. When they are taken there Aang and Katara are eager to find a water bending master only to find that girls are not allowed to learn waterbending. Angry, Katara decides that Aang could teach her what he learns from master "poopy head". but soon he finds out and stops being aang's teacher. then katara goes to the place where the cheif is and asks if pakku can teach aang again. he would say yes if she said sorry but she never did. katara and pakku fight and there is a kiss between two people.

Like the last episode this one too has to do with culture, but mostly tradtion. It is really interesting to see the difference in the Northern and Southern Water Tribes. I am not surprised to see the Northern Tribe's old tradions of arranged marriage and women being treated differtly on certain issues. Many tribes and cultures still to this day are like that. I like that Katara is against it and that she fights for what she wants. Ironically though you understand about Master Pakku, and even though he may be a little racist, it's how he has been raised, and they are his customs. Overall, a very great episode and definitely something you don't want to miss seeing before you watch the season finale.
  • Comedy Comedy Comedy! Man! Great episode, but a little to much comedy.

The episode starts out with Aang, Katara and Sokka riding on Appa, lost ever since they left the Northern Air Temple. When they finally bump into a couple of water tribe fishing boats, they realize that they were near the north pole all along. The tribe welcomes them gladly, and Katara and Aang try to find a waterbending master. Only to find out that girls can only learn how to heal, not to fight. Aang learns from the master, because he eventually has to master all four elements. Meanwhile, while the gang is at the tribe, Admiral Zhao is planing an attack with millions of warships to find the avatar, and kill him. It was a great episode, you should watch.
  • A fine example of a great storyline.

Wow. This episode was amazing. I loved this episode, great detail, and a fine example of a fantastic episode. This is exactly why I watch this series. Master Pakku teaching Aang and Katara. Katara was the best waterbender Master Pakku ever tought. Sokka and Princess Yue almost kissed, or maybe they did, I can't remember it clearly. I can not believe Admiral Zhao tried to kill Zuko. His idea was to have the pirates from The Waterbending Scroll blow up a jar of blasting jelly on Zuko's ship. Iroh wasn't on the ship, he was taking a walk. I have finally written a review for every episode. Overall, I give this a 9.4.
  • Master Pakku is so kool, same with Katara. When I saw them fight on youtube, I was like hell yeah, I got to watch this episode, so I kept watching Avatar, until that day came. When I watched it, it was so kool. I love water, I'm the water king. Kataang

  • The Waterbending Master Book 1, Chapter 18 Aang finally gets what he's been trying to for the whole season. However, there's a little surprise for him…

This was a really good episode. Especially the addition to the plot about Katara's Gran Gran being born in the Northern Water Tribe. Though, it's kind of creepy that Master Pakku finds out that Aang is teaching Katara waterbending after like two minutes. That could only mean that Master Pakku was following Aang for some reason.

I liked the fight between Katara and Master Pakku. Katara was a peasant from the Southern Water Tribe and Pakku was a master. I'm glad that they didn't show Katara winning because that would be to unrealistic. But I'm surprised that she managed to hold her own for a while, probably because her anger fueled her bending.

One of the best episodes in Season 1, all in all.
  • Classic

The episode begins with Sokka complaining that Appa is flying too slowly, Aang defensively replies that they should all climb on Sokka's back and he could fly them to the North pole. Katara tries to soothe the situation remarking that they are all tired and cranky as a result of flying for two days straight. Just as Sokka is voicing his doubts about finding the Northern Water Tribe the group is attacked by Northern waterbenders who lead them to their Water Tribe. While touring the city by gondola, Sokka sees Princess Yue for the first time and falls in love with her.

Admiral Zhao knows that the Avatar is travelling North and realises that he is travelling to the Northern Water Tribe to look for a Master to teach him Waterbending. One of his advisors is eager to go and get him but Zhao understands that the Northern Water Tribe is a powerful nation and there is a reason that they have survived 100 years of war. The frozen tundra is treacherous and the landscape itself is an icy fortress, so a massive invasion force is required.

Outside the great palace of the Northern Water Tribe Sokka and Katara are celebrated as family from the Southern Tribe, and Aang is honoured as a special guest. The 16th birthday of the princess, Yue, is also celebrated, coming of marrying age. Aang and Katara are then delighted to see the Waterbending Master, Pakku, and his students performing elaborate waterbending moves for entertainment. Sokka, meanwhile, is far more interested in the food at the banquet and Princess Yue who is sitting next to him. He breaks an awkward silence by telling Yue that back in his tribe he is "kind of like a prince himself". This statement is heard by Katara, who derisively asks him what he is the prince of. Embarrassed, Sokka replies that he is the prince of a lot of things and that he is in the middle of a conversation. He tells Yue that he will be in town for a while and asks if she would like to "do an activity" with him. After the Waterbending performance is over, Aang is introduced to Master Pakku. Aang is looking forward to Katara and himself learning Waterbending, after a few days rest. Master Pakku is unimpressed with his work ethic, telling Aang that he will receive no special treatment just because he is destined to save the world. If he is interested in learning Waterbending then they will be ready at sunrise.

Interrupting music night on Zuko's ship, Zhao takes command of the soldiers under Zuko and invites Iroh to join him as general. While he briefs Zuko and Iroh, he recognises the two broadswords on Zuko's wall as the same ones used by the Blue Spirit used to save the Avatar. When asked about them, Zuko quickly tells Zhao that he is not skilled with broadswords and they are antiques, merely for decorative purposes. Zhao addresses Iroh, asking him whether he has heard of the Blue Spirit. Iroh replies that he has just heard rumours and doesn't believe in his existence. Zhao assures Iroh that the Blue Spirit is indeed real and a criminal and enemy of the Fire Nation, but he has a feeling that he will be brought to justice soon.

As they approach the palace, Katara expresses her joy at being able to learn from a real master, saying she has waited for this day her whole life. However, she is shocked to learn from Master Pakku that it is forbidden for women to learn Waterbending. He advises her to go to the healing huts and learn from Yagoda to use her Waterbending to heal. Although Aang initially refuses to learn from Master Pakku, outraged at the unfairness, Katara makes him return by saying that he can't risk his training for her. So Aang begins to reluctantly learn from Master Pakku. Sokka, meanwhile makes plans with Princess Yue to meet on a bridge above the canal.

At the Fire Nation camp Admiral Zhao is talking to a "highly qualified" group of people for the mission he has in mind. It is revealed that he is paying the pirates, first seen in "The Waterbending Scroll", a large amount of gold to assassinate Zuko. Katara reluctantly goes to the class, which is taught by an old woman and where all the other students are very young girls. Meanwhile, Aang is learning waterbending from Master Pakku. He becomes frustrated when he is criticised for his technique. Master Pakku mockingly says that this move may be too advanced and Aang should try an easier one.

After the healing class, Katara thanks Yagoda who notices her betrothal necklace and asks her who she is getting married to. Katara explains that she is not ready for marriage and that the necklace was her grandmother's, passed down to her mother, and then her. Yagoda recognises the carving and reveals to Katara that she is an old friend of Kanna's, and also that Katara's grandmother was born in the Northern Tribe and was engaged to a young Waterbender, but left mysteriously without saying goodbye.

When Iroh informs Zuko that the crew wished him a safe journey, Zuko reveals his disappointment that they left, saying: "Good riddance to those traitors," Iroh invites him for a nightly stroll to clear his head, but Zuko remains sulking in his room. While Iroh is out walking, the assassination plan is executed by the pirates, planting explosives in Zuko's ship and detonating them with him inside. Zuko, suspicious when hearing a noise outside his room goes to investigate. Looking out the window he sees the pirates' Reptile Bird watching him. Zuko recognises it just as the lit fuse reaches the explosives. In the split second that the flames rushed at Zuko, he put up a fire shield that barely saved his life. Iroh, hearing the explosion and seeing the flames, rushes back to the docks to see the smouldering remains of the ship.

Sokka meets with Princess Yue on the bridge, presenting her with a carved fish, which she mistakes for a bear. However, Yue tells Sokka that she made a mistake inviting him there and runs away, leaving Sokka looking devastated who throws his carving into the water. Later, when the gang meet in their living quarters they are all unhappy with their situation. Sokka is confused and upset by Yue's mixed messages and Aang and Katara are unhappy that Katara is not allowed to learn Waterbending. Sokka suggests that at night Aang teach Katara everything he has learned in the day. Katara is excited at this idea, it allows her to learn Waterbending and Aang will have someone to practice with, everyone will be happy. Sokka remarks that he's not happy, but Katara dismisses this by saying that Sokka's never happy, and she and Aang hurry outside to begin practicing.

Disobeying the rules, Aang teaches Katara what he had learned, showing her a move that is all about "sinking and floating". Katara manages to learn the move with much ease, but suddenly the water she had been bending begins to writhe around her in a complex stream. Aang exclaims how amazing it is, but Katara is equally as surprised, saying it is not her manipulating the water. They look up to the bridge above them to see Master Pakku, angry that Aang has disrespected him, his teachings and his entire culture. Aang hastily apologises, but Master Pakku refuses to teach Aang anymore, saying he is no longer welcome as his student, before leaving.

The next day at the palace, Katara pleads with Chief Arnook to make Master Pakku take Aang back as his student. Master Pakku agrees to continue training Aang on the condition that Katara swallow her pride and apologise. Katara, angered by his pomposity and condescending attitude challenges him to a fight instead of apologising (gesturing emphatically as she does so and unintentionally Waterbending huge cracks in the ice floor and smashing two pots).

At the Fire Nation camp over a cup of tea, Iroh tells Zhao of the attack. Zhao is "devastated" by the news and smiles slyly when he hears that no trace of the attack was linked back to him. Iroh takes Admiral Zhao's offer of serving under him as General of the fleet.

Katara goes to wait outside for Master Pakku, who simply strolls past her, further angering her with patronising comments. Katara, her temper pushed to breaking point, forms a water whip and slaps Master Pakku on the back of the head. He turns around and agrees to the fight, telling her if she wants to learn so badly, to study closely. The fight begins and it is discovered that Katara is much more advanced in waterbending than previously known. She demonstrates amazingly powerful techniques she never used before during the fight. The two are able to manipulate the water and snow around them amazingly, using basic and advanced Waterbending techniques. Master Pakku grins and smirks as he attacks, but when Katara launches discs of ice at him, he appears to realise how skilled she is as a Waterbender. After a few moments of violent Waterbending, it seems Katara has the upper-hand, as she topples ice-obelisks over Master Pakku, who disappears in a cloud of mist. But, Master Pakku quickly emerges and preforms a Waterbending move that renders Katara helpless, and she is beaten. Her grandmother's necklace, which fell off during the fight, is picked up by Master Pakku and it is discovered that he made it for Kanna (Katara's Gran-Gran) 60 years ago.

On one of Zhao's ships General Iroh walks past a Fire Nation soldier, stopping to say quietly that their plan is working perfectly and that Zhao doesn't suspect a thing. The soldier takes off his face plate to reveal that he is (a bruised) Prince Zuko. Zuko thanks his Uncle for his help, and returns his faceplate. Iroh tells him to stay hidden until they reach the North Pole and he will have a chance of capturing the Avatar before Zhao does. Wishing his nephew luck they continue on.

Master Pakku tells Katara that her grandmother left the arranged marriage to begin her life in the South Pole. Katara understands that she refused to let her tribe's customs rule her life. This revelation makes Princess Yue burst into tears and run away. Sokka follows her and finds her on the bridge they met at. Yue weeps softly while Sokka tells her he wants nothing from her, but to tell her that she is beautiful and that he never would have thought she would even notice a guy like him. Yue tells him that he doesn't understand, but Sokka believes he does: she is a princess and he is just a Southern Tribe peasant. He turns to leave, but Yue kisses him, making Sokka happy but extremely confused. Yue explains that she has also fallen for Sokka but they cannot be together, and not for the reason Sokka thinks. She sadly pulls down the furs about her neck to reveal a betrothal necklace, she is engaged to be married. She apologises and leaves Sokka alone on the bridge.

At the end, although the Waterbending Master has not changed his rather harsh methods of teaching, he has taken both Katara and Aang as students, while Admiral Zhao's enormous invasion fleet has mobilised and set a course for the Northern Water Tribe.
  • Loved This One

The Northern Water tribe was amazing. It had huge ice buildings and people with lookalike clothes. The city had a unique architecture, style, and design that is very good for a cultured society. But enough with the city, what about the episode. First of all, the entrance that Aang and the gang take to get into the city was a great idea, as was all of the rest of the city. A city that could only be run by the benders of that country. Great, because the fire nations wouldn't get very far with water tribe cities, constantly melting them. Then the amazing feast and waterbending display at Princess Yue's birthday, and Master Pakku's dry humor. Then there was Aang teaching Katara in secret, and then Katara's battle with Master Pakku. That helped him realize that Katara was Gran-Gran's grandaugher. He was once engaged to her, when she lived in the Northern Water tribe. Then Master Pakku will finally teach Katara.

Now, this is by far one of my favorite episodes, not only how it was written, but because of the beutiful art design. I enjyoed every last second of this episode because of my reasons stated above. Katara and Aang finally find a master to teach them both waterbending, but there is a problem. The waterbending master tell Katara that it is forbbiden to teach woman water bending in this tribe. This is where a major conflict is born and of course is resolved in the end perfectly. An awesome battle scene accurs during this episode and we get to see what Katara is really made of, perfect epsiode.

this ep has it all. the gaang finally get to the northern water tribe, and katara finds that she cant practice her bending because it is forbidden. however, she finds the courage to stand up to the greatest waterbender in the world. They also get into a cool water bending fight. later on, katara makes him teach her (eventually). meanwhile, sokka finds love in the form of princes yue, and they go out to do an activity together. but sokka is confused about the way she acts when they go out. he later finds out she is engaged, but she still really likes him. bummer. aang finds out that he doesn't enjoy waterbending without katara.

I really enjoyed this episode. One, because it gives us a good look at the Northern Water Tribe and shows us some of their beliefs. And two, it has an amazing fight scene with Katara and Master Pakku. We get to see the beautiful architect of the Northern Water Tribe. The entrance, the bridges, the meeting places, and of course the fountains. We also learn that women can’t learn Waterbending. Major sexism there. Then we get to see the great battle between Katara and Pakku. The fight starts when Katara is angry that she can’t learn Waterbending. She finally tempts Pakku into fighting. To sum it up, Katara is losing the fight when Pakku finds the necklace he carved for Gran Gran Kana many years ago. Pakku reminisces and eventually accepts Katara as his pupil.

In this ep we get to see the northern water tribe, we get to learn about their culture and see the great city, which is one of my favortie places in the avatar world. We meet some very important charcaters, Sokka falls head over heals for a girl, Aang starts to waterbend and Katar learns about something that she is going to change, no matter what it takes. Also Zhoa starts to plan an attack on the northern water tibe, leaveing Zuko to take matters into his own hands, unless Zhoa stops him, that is. This ep is a great set up to the seasson fanile.

The Gaang has finally made it to the North Pole and are adjusting to it in their own way. Sokka finds a girl, Katara and Aang find a master to teach them waterbending. One problem doesn't accept girl students and directs Katara to the healing tent. This is prehaps pointing out that in many Animes that girls are often relegated to a supporting the hero by cheerleading them or the healer but not the fighter. Katara's fight with Master Pakku was a nice piece of Waterbending at work. Kudos for the staff for that awesome sequence. I loved that it showed what an awesome bender Katara had become after traveling with Aang throughout the first season. I loved how he realized that his stiff adherence to rules resulted in the lose of his one true love. I loved how at the end of the episode that he ended up training her with Aang Meanwhile Sokka's romance with Yue was so sweet to watch. Those two were so cute together.:D That he said to her was priceless: "You wanna do an activity together?" That line is so funny and empathizes how awkward Sokka is in the terms of girls just like all guys his age. Zuko's story started out humorous with him saying that he would not play the sungi horn. That was another line along with "He's taking everyone, even the cook." IROH! However, it ended on an ominous note with the forces of the Fire Nation Navy gathering in for the Siege of the North Pole. We also saw a return of the pirates from the "Waterbending Scroll" that nearly killed Zuko. Poor Zuko and Zhao discovering the Blue Spirit's identity. Zhao was a perfect villain in arranging Zuko's death and trying convince Iroh on joining his invasion force which, Iroh accepted to only to secretly give Zuko backup. Once again a great episode from the Avatar staff and a must see for the awesome Waterbending battle.

Katara meets Master Pakku only to be told that women are not warriors and should become healers. Sokka starts to fall in love with the tribal leader's daughter. This is a great episode that shows us what each of the characters are made of. Katara stands up to the master and eventually he realizes that she's a much better waterbender than any of his other male students he currently teaches. Sokka falls in love with Princess Yue despite her duty to marry someone she's already been betrothed to. Katara also discovers that her grandmother left because she didn't want to marry Pakku. This is a great character building episode!

this ep has it all. the gaang finally get to the northern water tribe, and katara finds that she cant practice her bending because it is forbidden. however, she finds the courage to stand up to the greatest waterbender in the world and makes him teach her (eventually). meanwhile, sokka finds love in the form of princes yue, and they go out to do an activity together. but sokka is confused about the way she acts when they go out. he later finds out she is engaged, but she still really likes him. bummer. aang finds out that he doesn't enjoy waterbending without katara.
  • At the beginning of the show, I like Katara as a decent character. After this episode though, I respected her more than ever. As a strong and determine character, Katara really stood tall in this episode.

In the episode, there was some romance and a exile prince had his ship blown up by his enemies. However what stood out the most in this episode was Katara herself. Katara couldn't be taught by the waterbending master Pakku because she is female, so she asks for Aang to show her waterbending techniques one night until Pakku shows up. Because of what happen, Pakku won't train Aang anymore. Katara decided to make her stand and took the fight on waterbending to Pakku to show that women can fight also in waterbending. Eventually, Pakku decides to allow Katara to be train as one of his students. Overall, a great episode to watch.

Wow, just plain wow, this episode was just like a miracle in the making. Everything in this episode was done flawlessly. I mean, even over the constant prattle of my friends who were acting like howler monkeys, i couldn't stop watching. The characters played there parts perfectly, and may i say that Katara really should keep her hair down more like like, because man she is HOT! Anyway, back to what i was saying before, this episode was flawless. I didn't know what was going to happen next. And when i found out that the series is not yet over, which i already had an idea of why it would not be over, i was just relived that i didn't have to wait to see new episodes. When Katara and Paku fought, i wondered where katara had learned to fight like that. I knew that Paku was going to beat her, but it was still an awesome battle. I now know the full extent of what the fire nation will go through just to accomplish a mission. Zuko was almost killed by admiral Zhao from an explosion caused by the pirates. And although this was to be expected of the pirates, i had no idea that Zhao would want to get rid of Zuko by any means necessary. No parts of this entire episode went by slow and it lived up to all of the expectations that a series finale should hold. Finding out a bit a Katara's ancestry was not actually as dull as you think it might be. I wish i would have seen more on what Katara was taught in the healing class that she went to, but i am not by any means going to discredit this episode based on what i like to see. Sokka and his relationship with the princess was cut tragically short, and although this was sad, it was sort of expected based on the fact that Sokka basically already has a girlfriend. Aang, although not shown much from what i could tell, because of the fact that so many other things had to come into play, still made a great character. I was a little confused though on the fact that Katara had learned all of those moves, but never showed of told where she learned them from. But i am sure that this information will come into play sooner or later. Either way, This episode left me speechless from the time that it started to the time that it ended. Great job, nick, Great job. WOW!!!

When Aang and his friends get lost on their way to the North Pole, they manage to be found by some of the Northern Water Tribe’s soldiers, which take them to their capital. There, Aang manages to find a waterbending master to teach him the abilities he needs to know, but the master refuses to train Katara. Meanwhile, Admiral Zhao recruits Zuko’s soldiers to prepare for an assault on the Northern Water Tribe, though he has other plans in store for Zuko’s fate. I really didnt like this one but i liked when Iroh was singing 4 seasons!!! lol !
