  • This is so good!

these episodes are by far the best thing to come out of korra, returning it to the wonderful feel of watching the original again, like lost episodes.

hopefully they will finish the korra story and give us a full serrie of wan!

Wow. Wow. WOW! This episode really hit on something incredible and again, all it had to do was remove Korra from the picture. Looking past the obvious allusions to Miyazaki's Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, this episode set up a very clear origin story for the Avatar franchise. Of course it begins with the bending - I assume other LionTurtles have different elements to give and Wan will be given a quest to master them all in order to keep chaos at bay (and become the first Avatar). It's predictable, as an origin story should be when we know the outcome, but it's also fascinating because it's something completely new and ridiculously relevant to the series. Way to hit your stride without Korra, Korra.
  • Finally...

a 2 parter that get's back to what I loved about Last Airbender, likable characters, badass bending and a good story!

Beginnings shows the history of Wan the very first avatar and how he became the bridge between the spirits and humans. My gripes with Korra as a series were suspended for this hour as Beginnings was at last an episode worth watching and can stand up with any of the greats from Last Airbender.

I don't want to give away too much but let's just say I was ecstatic this entire episode and at the conclusion I smiled and shouted cause there was a epic battle between Wan and Vatu the dark spirit think Aang and Ozai fighting it was that sick!

I know in my review of 'The Sting' I whined about a distinct lack of spirits in a Book all about them but 'Beginnings' was just what the doctor ordered. Hopefully the remainder of the season can ride out on this highlight of an hour to finish up what I consider a mostly mediocre season.

This will also be the only episode all season that I save on my DVR to re watch, yeah it was that AWESOME!
  • awsome

This episode was awesome I hope the rest of korra will also be this good.
  • Oh my god...

I was beginning to lose hope in this series. But this episode was spectacular. I absolutely LOVE IT. It went back to the strong Asian influence, it had subtler humor, it was not so over the top, it had likable characters and real martial arts based bending rather than boxing-like bending. I can't believe it. If the series continues like this, I have hope for Legend of Korra.
