Awake On The Wild Side

Awake On The Wild Side is a morning top-ten countdown music show from MTV with host Lisa Edelstein doing some variety sketches in between clips. Edelstein wakes up young adults as they get ready for work or school, screening the most popular video clips in the country. She also takes archive interviews from band like The Replacements and U2 and mixes her own questions into the taped responses. The result is a comedic fictional interview that plays before each commercial break. DJ Todd1 one replaces Edelstein in mid-season, and he scraps the Lisa's mock interviews sketches for real ones. Artist Sting stops by to talk about his post-Police work and saxophonist Kenny G. gives morning viewers a sample of a new song by playing the brass. By the end of the season, Awake On The Wild Side swaps Todd1 for comedian Jonathan Leigh Solomon, who adds some original stand up routines and celebrity impressions to the show's format.
