In fact, two of the backgrounds in this episode, the alien invasion and giant eyeball backgrounds, are layouts designed by Maurice Noble for "Duck Dodgers in the 24th and 1/2 Century" in 1953, which was written by Michael Maltese and directed by Chuck Jones.
