Babylon 5

Deathwalker was a really great episode of Babylon 5. I enjoyed watching this episode because it had lots of character building, a little action, and plenty of drama. I thought the story of this episode was unique in it's time and it was certainly entertaining. This episode touches upon a sensitive subject and ends in a surprising way. I thought Talia's interactions with Kosh were interesting and some what spiritual. I enjoyed seeing more diversity in the aliens who inhabit Babylon 5. This episode is definitely one of my favorites of this season and I look forward to watching more Babylon 5!!!!!!!

Oh, I remember when years ago I saw this episode first time and I did not get it at all. And for years this episode was one of my least favorite ones on season one but after some time, I start to more and more understand this episode. And it is worth it.



First, this is very unique episode on the point of Kosh. He is usually standing out on everything and this time he steps in so many ways - first Talia and those talks. Not even fully sure what was the point of that but it works. And then the Deathwalker... those thoughts in the end..



And I most say the irony of the Deathwalker.. her char and motivation. The way Sinclair and Garibaldi in the end learn what is needed for that serum and how she will be sure that her ways will live forever. And the question this episode roses... Well done.

This is another very good episode of Season One, which raises powerful questions about whether it is possible to atome for past evil.



A notorious female warrior arrives on Babylon 5 and is promptly givem the smackdown by Na'Toth. It turns out that she is the notorious war criminal Ja'dhur, known as 'Deathwalker'. Just one problem - the Dilgar are a dead race, their home planet has been destroyed and Deathwalker should be an old woman by now...



It seems that the crimes perpetrated were in the cause of medical research, and have produced an immortality serum - which Ja'dhur has used on herself. To complicate matters, Earth wants the serum and is willing to collaborate with her (as are the Narns). Sinclair is disgusted by the double standards here, and so are the League of Worlds, who demand a trial. In the end, the dilemma is solved by the Vorlons who suddenly comes through the Jump Gate and torch Ja'dhur and her discovery...



This episode revolves around the complex moral issues of whether a 'greater good' can atone for past evil. The way that Earth, Narn, Minbari and the League of Nations repsond to this is subtly different, and plays out well in this episode.



There's a small sub plot about Kosh extracting memories from Talia with the help of a VCR - a human / cyborg 'recorder'. Presumably this was meant to play out later but got abandoned when the actess playing Talia left the show.



Really thought provoking episode

in this episode of babylon 5 a sinister alien appears on babylon 5 and is revealed to be deathwalker a cruel and sadistic war criminal responible for countless thousands of alien deaths, as the crowds clamour for her trial she uncovers an incredible secert she has the key to enternal life but only at a terrible price. meanwhile ambassador kosh hires tali winters for a job, pay attention to this episode when kosh hires tali after she is scan by the alien freind of kosh he gives a data crystal to kosh, what does this data crystal contain. evidence for the future.

Sinclair is given a tough decision to make when a war criminal, who was thought to be dead, arrives on Babylon 5. His decision is made more difficult when it is discovered that she has created a cure for ageing and is ordered to send her back to earth. G’Kar has other plans as the Narn also know about this discovery and want to claim it for themselves. There is also a sub-plot as Kosh hires Talia to oversee some negotiations, which turn out to be a little stranger than she is used to.



This is a strong episode that raises some very good questions such as can you forgive someone there past crimes if they can how save more people than they killed. I especially like the twist at the end, which turns the whole episode on its head. Overall another good entry as the series really begins to show its strengths.
