There is an explosion in one of the fighter bays just days before the president is to visit Babylon 5. A dying man implicates Garibaldi, which is just what the head of presidential security wants to hear, as she blames him for her father's death.moreless
  • Another good episode

    7.7
    "Good"
Garibaldi's past catches up with him when he is accused of planting a bomb in one of the fighters bays days before the president is due to visit. To make matters worse for him the head of presidential security is the daughter of an old friend of Garibaldi's who blames him for her father's death.

I've always found Garibaldi to be one of the more interesting characters and this is the first episode that really focuses on him and gives us some of his back-story. Jerry Doyle does a good job as always playing the role with charm and charisma; we also get to see that there is a darker side to his character. Overall another strong episode as the show is really starting to hit a role now.moreless
  • Character development for Michael Garibaldi

    9.0
    "Superb"
Oddly enough, even though the other key players have had one - or more usually more - episodes that give them significant backstory and character development, we haven't seen much about Garibaldi until now

This episode takes Garibaldi from being the gung-ho, happy-go-lucky Security Chief into a much more rounded and nuanced person. It turns out that he was involved in the death of friend some 17 years back - and, in typical Babylon 5 'small universe' style - the daughter of the dead friend turns up on the station, in this case as Security Adviser to the President.

A bomb explodes just before the President arrives, and it looks like Garibaldi is implicated. We see him on the run, without security clearance, seeking answers from G'Kar, Londo and others. Lianna has pre-judged Garibaldi and is in hot pursuit..

Eventually, Garibaldi is out of options and turns to the booze, replicating a pattern of repeated alcohol abuse. All turns out well as the traitor turns out to be a mole in the President's Security Staff. And Garibaldi shakes off his hangover to save the day!

What is good about this episode is that we empathise with Garibaldi, and begin something of a inner struggle with him that spans the five seasons. Good performance too from the acress who plays Leanne Kemmer.moreless
  • Survivors

    9.0
    "Superb"
Survivors was a really great episode of Babylon 5. I enjoyed watching this episode because it had a great story and was full of drama, action, intrigue, and character development. This episode was fun to watch Garibalidi and learn more about his character. There was a lot of classic story telling in this episode which makes it easy for viewers to connect with the characters. I think this episode had a good story and moves the season ahead a little with it's plot lines. I enjoyed watching this episode and look forward to watching more episodes of Babylone 5! There are many interesting stories and characters so far in the series!!!!!!!moreless
  • Garibaldi's episode

    7.4
    "Good"
This was little off the main storyline episode, I would say.. not that first season mostly just creates the ground for later events but this episode - it did not had much point. It was mostly to open up Garibaldi's complex past and the way he just tries to handle with everything. I cannot say it was boring as this episode had some really fascinating moments but overall, it somehow had little under the usual standard feeling.

I adored some of the irony in this episode - first the centaury currency thing. Garibaldi was accused of having some of them.. and first person who he run gives him even more and ofcourse those after him learned about it. I loved that...moreless
