A mysterious group known as "techno-mages" take up temporary residence at Babylon 5 and Londo is very eager to get an audience with them. Meanwhile the Drazi cause problems for the newly promoted Commander Ivanova with their rather unusual election process.moreless
  • The Geometry of Shadows

    "Perfect"
The Geometry of Shadows was a perfect and classic episode of Babylon 5. I enjoyed watching this episode because there was a lot of character and plot development. Ivanova gets some good news, Londo tests the patience of a Techno-Mage, and the Drazi are crazy and definitely have some good action scenes. I thought the storys of this episode were good and it was great that Garibaldi decided to stay on as Head of Babylon 5 Security. I think the ending of this episode had important clues to the future. I look forward to watching more episodes of Babylon 5!!!!!!!moreless

i love this episode of babylon 5 the geometry of shadows. three tech mages arrive on the station. and londo tries to have a meeting with one of them. so he sends vir. the tech mages says to vir you dont frightin easyly. he says i work with ambassador morliari. after that londo upsets one of them so they place a spell on him. his files on his computer are downloaded with narn opera. and after he says sorry you find that there is a black bat on his back. quite funny scene. also susan is trying to make peace between the green and purple drazi which leads to disaster. i also love this scene between lou welch and garibaldi. "look we bought a cake, alright. its been sitting there for two days now'. "are you kidding me?.you pass a cake for two days? whats the deal?. what've you done with the real lou welch, huh?. hey security!. security, over here!. we've got another guy with a changeling net".moreless
  • Techno-mages on Babylon 5 - dark clouds are rising over the head of Londo MollariĀ“.

    "Perfect"
A really special episode, at least for me. As I also used to play Babylon 5 CCG with techno-mages, so maybe that but those characthers have something so mysterious and unknown with them - the way they made other races feel - how people thought about them and how they talked - I most say some of the most gorgeous quotes have been said by Elric.

Also I definitely enjoyed the storyline with Londo and Refa - the dark clouds are rising and those two are prepearing for their shining glory. And Vir... He makes me always wonder how could he cope with it - with his good heart and by knowing all the things he knows because he works for Londo Mollari. But maybe it is as he said that you will get used.

Anyway, episode what may not so much go on with the story but what defenetly sets the stage for coming darkness and adventures.moreless
  • The third episode of the second season. I never know what to say in the summary.

    9.2
    "Superb"
The introduction to this second continues. I've been saying that all season, but its true. A rather lengthy introduction to the season, but I am sure it will be worth it in the end.

Garibaldi was "cured" in the last episode and in this one he has to fight the inner demons on wheither he feels that he should come back. He feels he let everyone down. Was great seeing him "back to normal" by the end of the episode.

Ivanova gets a well-deserved promotion in this episode, although its not all its cracked up to be. She must deal with the Drazi, who based on cultural tradition, must spend battle it out with each other to decide who is in charge. I rather liked the ending of this plotline, by her taking the sash and becoming the Green leader, thus ending the conflict.

Although I did not like the technomages much, I did like Londo's "punishment."moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    ADD TRIVIA
    • The first and only appearance of the Techno-Mages in Babylon 5, but one of their number, Galen, plays a substantial role in Crusade.

    • Continuity: The Drazi use Ivanova's comlink to bait their trap, but we'll later find out in "Exogenesis" in Season 3 that they're keyed to the user and no one else can use them.

  • QUOTES (15)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Londo: Now, if I may ask, does this torment end when you leave, or am I going to have to spend the rest of my life paying for one little mistake? Elric: Oh, I'm afraid you have to spend the rest of your life paying for your mistakes. Not this one of course, it's trivial, I have withdrawn the spell, but there will be others. Londo: What are you talking about? Elric: You are touched by darkness, Ambassador. I see it as a blemish that will grow with time. I could warn you of course, but you would not listen. I could kill you, but someone would take your place. So I do the only thing I can, I go.

    • Elric: There is a storm coming up, black and terrible storm.

    • Vir: Londo, they are going away. Money doesn't matter to them. Power doesn't matter to them. Londo: Money and power always matter.

    • Sheridan: The Universe doesn't give you any points for doing things that are easy.

    • Londo: What you are asking could be considered treason. Lord Refa: Or the first step in restoring our people to their rightful place in the galaxy. Depending on who writes the history books. I think it will be us.

    • Garibaldi: What the hell kind of a security chief am I supposed to be if I can't see something like that? Franklin: You can't be expected to know everything. Garibaldi: Yes I can. I could've known and I should've known. And now, I .. I just don't know if I'm any damn use to anybody anymore. I keep asking myself what qualifies me to take back my job and .. I haven't got an answer. I wish the hell I did.

    • Elric: As I look at you, Ambassador Molari, I see a great hand reaching out of the stars. The hand is your hand. And I hear sounds -- the sounds of billions of people calling your name. Londo: My followers? Elric: Your victims.

    • Sheridan: What was it (Elric) said? Dreamers, shapers, singers, makers. Part of me says we'll not see their like again and the part of me that still believe in the magic says don't be so sure.

    • (to Garibaldi) Sheridan: So, in other words, you're perfect for the job because you're paranoid and compulsive. Franklin: Or compulsive and paranoid. Garibaldi: Who told you to say that?

    • Green Drazi: Green must fight Purple, Purple must fight Green. Is no other way. Ivanova: Just my luck - I get stuck with a race that speaks only in macros.

    • Green Drazi: Rules of combat older than contact with other races. Did not mention aliens. Rules change caught up in committee. Not come through yet. Ivanova: Yeah, bureaucracy. Tell me about it.

    • Elric: You don't frighten easily. Vir: I work for Ambassador Mollari. After a while nothing bothers you.

    • Londo: Vir, do you believe in fate? Vir: Well, actually, I believe there are currents in the Universe, eddies and tides that pull us one way or the other. Some we have to fight, some we have to embrace. Unfortunately the currents that we have to fight look exactly like the currents we have to embraces. The currents that we think are ones that are going to make us stronger they're the ones that are going to destroy us. And the ones that we think are going to destroy us, they're the ones that make us stronger. Now the other current... Londo: Vir. Yes or no? Vir: Yes, you know, somewhat.

    • Elric: [describing Technomages] We are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner, holographic demons and invocations of equations. These are the tools we employ, and we know many things. Fourteen words to make someone fall in love with you forever, seven words to make them go without pain, how to say goodbye to a friend who is dying, how to be poor, how to be rich, how to rediscover dreams when the world has stolen them from you.

    • (after breaking her leg) Ivanova: Now you can give me something for the pain. Where were you when I was going through puberty?

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    ADD ALLUSIONS
    • Acme: When Garibaldi pretends to be selling something door to door, he claims it is made by the Acme Corporation. This was the company that made all the products Wiley Coyote used in the Looney Tunes series, of which Garibaldi is shown to be a fan on numerous occasions (notably "Midnight on the Firing Line").

    • Techno-Mage: Do not try the patience of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.
In Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Gildor Says "Do not meddle in the affairs of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger." Almost a direct quote.
