  • One of the best "made for TV" movies of all time.

There are a few people who don't like this film because they thought it was too drawn out. I might agree if this was a two-part episode, or a feature film; but as a tv-movie, it rocks. JMS's writing is poetic as always, and the effects look better than they do in some episodes of the series. I can't name another tv-movie I enjoy more (except for maybe In The Beginning) and I challenge anyone to name a better scifi movie that premiered on The Scifi chanel that's better.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Ivanova says (on Sheridan's link) that the carbon-14 dating puts the artifact at one million years old. But carbon dating can only be done to objects on Earth, as the carbon ratios in space would be vastly different and constantly changing.

    • When Vir Cotto was throttling Zack Allen and the telepathic spell is broken, you can see that Stephen Furst forgot to remove his wrist watch. The watch is not present on his left wrist when the fight begins, but is present at the end of the fight.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Zack Allan: You were trying to open up the airlocks! Now why?
Deuce: I... was going to go for a walk.

    • Sheridan: Well, maybe it's a learning experience for you.
Dr. Elizabeth Trent: If it is, it's a hell of a painful one.
Sheridan: Ain't no other kind, Dr. Trent.

    • Ivanova: Well, the vultures are starting to circle.
Zack Allan: I thought the vultures only circled after you were dead.
Ivanova: Maybe they know something we don't.

    • Zack Allan: You are all in violation of security ordinance 22V3A. That means get the hell out of here!

    • (to Lyta)
Alex: I want to thank you for your time, Miss Alexander. You are a lovely young woman. And if I was thirty younger and you were a little blind in one eye, what a wonderful life we could have together.

    • Delenn: John, whenever something comes into our proximity that has to do with the unknown, your eyes light up like two tiny suns. And do you know what words these two tiny lights spell out?
      Sheridan: What?
Delenn: Mine! Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine!
Sheridan: Oh, now that is a lie!
      Delenn: Minbari do not lie.
Sheridan: Well, then it is slander.
Delenn: To be slander, it must be false. That's two down.
Sheridan: Well... then it's damned inconvenient.
      Delenn: The truth always is.

    • Sheridan: Can you swing by and pick me up on your way in?
Delenn: Of course. In the fullness of time.
Sheridan: Oh, and how long is that? This isn't funny, Delenn!
      Delenn: Yes, it is.
Sheridan: (continuing spinning in space) Oh no, it isn't!

    • (watching the workers move equipment in the cargo bays)
Ivanova: You think anybody would notice if I just... killed a few of them?
      Franklin: Well... how many?
Ivanova: I don't know... uh, ten?
      Franklin: Oh yeah, they'd notice.
      Ivanova: Six?!
      Franklin: Go for it!

  • NOTES (2)

    • The artifact was designed in cooperation with Wayne Douglas Barlow, author of Barlow's Guide to Extraterrestrials.

    • When they finished editing the movie for broadcast, the producers found out that they were actually a few minutes short, so the elevator scene with Zack and Lyta was added.
