The ice on the DeLorean (revealed by Bob Gale in the commentary to be liquid nitrogen) would not be used in the sequels.
When the DeLorean backs up (towards the camera) at the end of the movie to take off into the air, the camera is reflected in the rear license plate.
When Marty is pretending to be Darth Vader, the hair dryer in his belt disappears and reappears (some extra footage, wherein Marty moves the hair dryer was cut from the final film).
When the DeLorean goes 1 minute into the future, the fire goes between Doc's legs but when the camera switches angles, it no longer does.
Marty: (First waking up after being hit by a car) Mom? Mom, is that you? Lorraine: There, there now. Just relax. You've been asleep for almost five hours now. Marty: I had this... horrible nightmare. I dreamed I went... back in time. Lorraine: Well, it's alright, you're back in good old 1955. Marty: (opening his eyes) 1955?!? (light comes on and he sees a young Lorraine) AHH!
Lorraine: I've never seen purple underwear before, Calvin. Marty: Calvin, why do you keep calling me Calvin? Lorraine: Well that's your name isn't it? Calvin Klein? It's written all over your underwear! (She moves toward Marty who pulls back, falling off the bed)
Marty: (Spies George in a tree looking into someone's window with binoculars) He's a peeping tom!
Doc: There's that word again 'heavy' why is everything so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull? Marty: What?
(Doc waiting at the clock tower for Marty to arrive. Doc: D***, where is that kid? D***! D***! D*** D***!
(In 1955, Tab and Pepsi Free haven't been invented yet.) Marty: Give me a tab. Lou: Tab? I can't give you a tab unless you order something. Marty: All right, give me a Pepsi Free. Lou: You want a Pepsi, pal, you're gonna pay for it. Marty: Look, just give me something without any sugar in it, okay? Lou: Something without sugar. (He gives Marty coffee.)
Mr. Strickland:Now let me give you a nickel's worth of free advice, young man. This so-called Dr. Brown is dangerous, he's a real nutcase. You hang around with him you're gonna end up in big trouble. Marty:Oh, yes sir. (Strickland pushes Marty a little bit.) Mr. Strickland:You've got a real attitude problem, McFly. You're a slacker! You remind me of your father when he went here. He was a slacker, too. Marty:Can I go now, Mr. Strickland? Mr. Strickland:I noticed your band is on the roster for the dance auditions after school today. Why even bother, McFly? You don't have a chance, you're too much like your old man. No McFly has ever amounted to anything in the history of Hill Valley. Marty: Yeah, well history is gonna change.
(As Marty and Young Doc arrive at the Hill Valley High School circa 1955) Marty: Whoa, they really cleaned this place up, looks brand new. Doc: Now remember, according to my theory you interfered with your parents' first meeting. They don't meet, they don't fall in love, they won't get married and they won't have kids. That's why your older brother's disappeared from that photograph. Your sister will follow and unless you repair the damages, you will be next. Marty: That sounds pretty heavy! Doc: Weight has nothing to do with it.
DOC BROWN: When this baby hits 88 miles per hour, your going to see some serious s***.
(After Doc tells Marty and Jennifer to come to the future) MARTY: What's wrong with us in the future? Do we become @$$holes or something?
MARTY: What the hell's a "jiggawatt"?
The scene with Doc sending Marty home is reused the following times: - At the end of BTTF 2. - At the beginning of BTTF 3. - At the beginning of the animated series episode "Go Fly a Kite".
The graffiti on the front of the Hill Valley High School at the beginning of the movie includes 2 large "BOBs" - obvious nods to the creators Robert "Bob" Zemeckis and Bob Gale.
Singer Cameo, Huey Lewis: the "Battle of The Bands" judge with glasses and the megaphone.
When we see George's new book, Match Made In Space, on the spine, it says Proberts Publications. This is named after Andrew Probert, who made the cover of the book prop. See it here.
This movie first debuted in 1985.
