More sad new, guys! Universal Orlando will be closing one of the rides that made it famous at the end of this summer. The current president of Universal Orlando has been wanting to close it for years now, and it looks like he finally got his wish. He doesn't think that an "old movie" like BTTF has any popularity anymore with today's audience--although if he ever saw the long lines for the ride every day he would know better! Sure, the ride is starting to show its age, but it's nothing a month of rehab wouldn't fix! If you ask me, they should close Earthquake or Twister, which are two of the worst and least popular rides in the park!

If he doesnt like old movies, he should close ET, Twister, Earthquake, Fievel's Playground thing, Barney (because thats old now), Beetlejuice, and JAWS. They are all really old, so shut them too, Bob Gault the stupid .
The ride is still open, and there is a myspace dedicated to saving the ride. www.myspace.com/savebttf

Yeah, half of it is still open, but no one knows whether or not it will stay open. Because of the huge wave of negative fan responses to the closure of the ride Universal is keeping half of it (one theatre) open for now. Rumor has it that they might even redo the entire ride and make an new BTTF ride, but that seems unlikely. But since the deal to put in "The Simpsons" ride has fallen through, it will remain open for now!

Although BTTF... The Ride has had several closing dates, ranging from September through January, BTTF remains open. It only operates on one dome currently, and the second dome is currently shut, with no one knowing what's going on inside. The Simpsons deal fell through, and no one knows what could be replacing the ride. The DeLoreans have been cleaned and Doc Brown character walks around the park, so that's a good sign. And a few days ago, girls were chanting "SAVE BTTF! SAVE BTTF!" at Universal. There are currently no closing dates, and no one knowing what's going to replace it. Lines are over an hour wait every day. Go to www.myspace.com/savebttf, sign the petition (which has over 1100 signatures!) and keep up with the updates to save Back to the Future... The Ride!

Okay, gang, it's official: March 30th is the last day BTTF will be open. It will indeed be a sad day for all of the fans the world over that have enjoyed this ride. Universal has not announced what will replace BTTF, but they did say that whatever it is will open Spring 2008. The wait times for it have been exceeding 70 minutes for the last few weeks because all of the employees have been urging guests to ride it one last time. Doc Brown and Marty will continue to wander around and do meet-n-greets, but they will no longer have the Institute of Future Technology as a backdrop...

The BTTF ride in Hollywood is closing by the end of June...

Universal announced yesterday that "The Simpsons" would officially be the ride replacing BTTF in both Orlando and Hollywood. It will open in 2008.

I know that ticks me off but I heard that Doc and Marty from the Back to the future cartoon series are going to make a cameo appearance on the Simpsons Ride flying the DeLorean through Krusty Land as a tribute to Back to the future the ride.

oh my goodness i was sooo mad when i heard about this. they say that the movie doesnt go with new audiences but im 16 and love that movie. this was the worst thing they could do because that was my favorite ride and it had this nostalgic 80's touch that made the park cool. and the worst thing is they put the simpsons ride! that show is so cheezy and not funny what so ever. im more of a family guy-er.
