Well, as pilots go, this one was not all that bad. It didn't quite reach my expectations, so I hope the quality goes up from here.
I think Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer are going to make a fine duo. This isn't suprising considering their most recent TV projects. I will have to get used to watching Grammer portray someone other than Frasier Crane. Hopefully, as the series goes on, there will be enough difference between the two characters that it will become easier to believe that Grammer's performance is indeed Chuck Darling. The comedy wasn't great in this episode, but I can see a lot of potential. Some of the one-liners, particularly those delivered by the Crezyzewski character, were priceless! It appears that that will be his role - the goofy, good for a laugh character.
I was glad to see they revealed the 'secret' involving Kelly's daughter right away without letting it drag on too far. I now see that storyline will be the basis for the entire series.
