Christmas is not Sylvia Hollamby's favourite time of year and this year isn't going to be any different. With all the drains on G Wing overflowing, everyone's wondering what's causing it and when a decomposed hand rises to the surface could Natalie have been found? Hollamby gets a surprise visit from a face from the past ...moreless
  • A fantastic episode, that shouldn't was wasn't ment to end the show. But what a great way to say goodbye.

Silvia Hollenby wanted to be in charge of the Prison and we all wanted to see her learn her lesson. We got both what we wanted this episode. Being a Christmas special it was going to be a bit surreal for sure, so I have no intention of trying to put it down for being silly. I think it went really well. This was a fantastic scrooge parody and a perfect christmas special. This was Silvia's finest hour and combined with the 2 Julies we got to see the originals in plentiful amounts before we said goodbye. This was a really classic episode. It might have been a bit light-heatered but it hit all the right buttons. As far as finales go, this is the best one of any series I can think of, even if it wasn't ment to be.

    • Sylvia: No wonder the baby Jesus was born in Bethlehem and not Bethnal Green. The three Kings would have had no chance of following that star for flaming rain clouds.

    • Phyl: There was a time for us when Christmas meant snow white beaches, and Rudy wasn't a bloody reindeer. Bev: Yes, and he came more than once a year… came more than once a night actually.

    • Natalie: People hate you even more than they hated me. That's pretty impressive. Sylvia: Is that's what's going to happen to me? Natalie: It is if you let them. That's why you've got to stay on top. You've got to let them know who's boss. Grind the bastards down.

    • Donny: You heartless bitch. Sylvia: That's it. I've had enough of your insolence. You're suspended. Donny: Good! You can shove it up your fat arse!

    • Natalie: Don't worry, Sylv. I'm not here to hurt you. I'm actually here to give you a pat on the back. Sylvia: What are you talking about? Natalie: We've got a lot in common me and you. We're both a pair of evil cows. Sylvia: I'm nothing like you. Natalie: You reckon? You look like one evil bitch to me.

    ADD NOTES
    • As a Christmas special, this episode is based on Dickens' 'Christmas Carol', with Sylvia playing the part of Scrooge. She is visited by one ghost, Natalie, in comparison to the three Scrooge encounters, but this experience changes her life as she is forced, like Scrooge, to recognise her cruel ways and alter her attitude towards the people around her and Christmas. Ultimately, it is Sylvia who brings happiness to the wing, after eight seasons of being Scrooge-like.

    • There is surprisingly no reference made to prisoner Darlene Cake, who, in the final episode of series 8, set herself alight and looked to be dangerously hurt.

    • This is the series' Final Episode.
