With information obtained from one of the Julies' sons and Monica, the two Julies hatch a plan to make some wine from apples. Monica gets permission to have a home visit with her son, Spencer in three weeks time. Both Sylvia and Fenner almost bust the wine-making operation, but neither find anything. While looking forward to her upcoming home visit, Monica learns that her son has died. Helen escorts Monica to the funeral. Meanwhile, most of the girls involved in the wine-making operation meet for a wake in the Julies' room, and drink the wine a week early. They toast in honor of Spencer (but do not name the wine after Spencer as the current recap for this episode states).
This has probably been the best episode so far. Although, the people who have voted on these episodes seem to disagree. The episodes I like more seem to get lower scores than the episodes I find more boring. Oh well. I really enjoyed the whole making illegal wine storyline. I was really enjoying this episode from the beginning. Little did I know that tragedy would strike. I figured Spencer was going to die sooner or later (people with Down's Syndrome seldom make it past their mid-30s) and the fact that he had been coughing badly the last couple visits was a sure sign he would probably die shortly. I felt very badly for Monica, as I really like her character. Also, it was fun to see Shell look like a complete ass again when Fenner didn't find the wine she tipped him off about. Fenner might be a scumbag, but it's fun to see him put Shell in her place. I've only got two more episodes left to see.moreless
