So, one thing that confused me about this episode was the long amount of time it apparently spanned - weeks and weeks. These days, television doesn't tend to cover much time, and if it does it makes it clear with handy little notes at the bottom of the screen. Never mind, the action still worked well. Here are some more thoughts:

    1. I never realised that Helen was supposed to be drawn to Nikki at such an early stage. The program must always have planned the affair between them, it's already being set-up.

    2. I don't understand why Fenner is interested in Rachel. Okay, so Shell Dockley is a bit of a maniac and he's a fool for getting involved with her, but I can still see how she might seduce him. However, what he said to Shell is absolutely right - Rachel's just a kid - so what exactly does he see in her?

    3. I'm liking Monica as a character, I've never seen her before but she's quite a nice gentle inmate. Tonight I enjoyed her general small interactions with Helen - they just seemed to say a lot about her.

    4. Despite the fact that in season 2 Zandra was my favourite character, I'm finding it hard to get overly interested in her various story-lines: wedding; drugs; man troubles...it all just seems a bit dull to me.

    5. I enjoyed the introduction of Crystal - her conversation with Helen in particular was really great, very feisty and political. That said, she still showed the more gentle side of her character when comforting Zandra.

I'm sure I've forgotten some finer details. Overall, I did enjoy the episode, though the timing confused me and it seemed like a general filler episode - setting-up possible story-lines for the season as a whole. Nothing wrong with that of course, but not one of Bad Girl's finest.moreless

Zandra decides to stop taking drugs and want to continue with the wedding plans she had before being sent back to prison. Helen agrees to allow her to get married in the prison as long as Zandra continues with the prison's detox program. A new inmate, Crystal Gordon arrives. Helen sees an engagement notice in the newspaper announcing the engagement of Zandra's fiance to another woman. Zandra's wedding plans are off.

Well it was obvious that something was going to go wrong with Zandra's wedding plans. It just wouldn't be a prison drama if things actually went well. The new bible-beater prisoner, Crystal Gordon, is fun. It's funny how she's such a jesus-freak yet she has no problem threatening to take out people's eyes

and is in prison for a shoplifting problem. Still, pity about the wedding, as the weirdo Julie duo somehow made a nice dress out of not much at all.moreless
