Governor Joy Masterton is disgusted when her new deputy, Lou Stoke, turns up for her first day at Larkhall reeking of booze and the worse for wear. A new inmate arrives - Emira Al Jahani, the wife of a suspected terrorist bomber. The girls treat her with contempt, but Natalie discovers that she's a chemistry student and has soon bullied her into constructing a drugs laboratory. The others jump to the conclusion that Emira is planning a chemical attack and panic ensues.moreless
  • this episode was absolutely brilliant!there was hardly any dull moments at all.the opening seen with prisoners laying dead in the cold and eerie corridors of hmp larkhall was marvellous!what a way to kick off the new season!moreless

no one can describe how i felt after watching this episode. i watch it again and again!the plot was very clever. however the whole concept with emira being a terrorist's wife was just a tad over the top but the directors of the show still pulled it of.this was truly a wonderful, exiting and breath-taking season opener.
  • I hated every moment.

This episode was utterly ludicrous. I hated every moment, and it was painful for me to watch, in the sense that I had to literally kill all consciousness in not turning off the t.v.

As the evils were so apparent anyway, I\\\'ll try and summon up a few good memories from the episode...

Firstly, I do indeed like Louise, the new Governor. She seems fresh and good for the wing - we\\\'re used to the corrupt ones, the stupid ones, Sylvia, so it\\\'s always nice to have someone like this pop in.

I also like the new Muslim character, despite hating the story-line. The actress seemed ok. However, I noticed the not-so-subtle \\\"There are other Muslim girls here too\\\" said by a character with no need, as though the writers felt the need to emphasis that point and weren\\\'t able to manage it well.

I didn\\\'t like the way the episode began with the ending - I\\\'ve seen it done before, and far better, and this time it just didn\\\'t work...

The deaths were pretty ridiculous too....

Um, I can\\\'t really remember details of the last season, so I can\\\'t remember which characters we pre-knew and which were just invented for the sake of this episode...also, did the ginger-haired one with a son called Dylan leave already? I thought her girlfriend, wannabe top-dog, was another Yvonne, and cool with difference, but she seemed quite pathetic this episode.

Ok, I know nobody will agree with my review as it\\\'s already been rated 9.8. Sorry folks, I was just VERY disappointed with such a stupid episode for such an important issue that affects the whole of our society.moreless
