Show Summary

Baking Magic is a television cooking show series, consisting of 13 episodes, that broadcast on PBS stations in 2004. The host Rose Levy Beranbaum is a renowned and gifted cooking expert and author of nine award-winning cookbooks on baking cakes, cookies, breads, pies and pastries. Rose, a specialist on baking delicious confections, demonstrates in the series, step-by-step techniques for baking various cakes, pies, pastries and bread, taken from recipes from her three cookbook bibles. Along with baking the recipes, she introduces baking tips during each episode. These tips include information on the best baking equipment to use and special techniques to achieve best baking results; along with extra discussions on how ingredients interact. Some of the episode tips are how to whip cream without turning it to butter, how to prepare a cake pan to easily remove a cake when finished, how to make ganache from chocolate and heavy cream, and how to measure flour by weighing and not by measuring.
