TLC gets into the dancing craze and brings three average guys or girls into a rigorous six-week training program where they will be paired up with top ballroom dancing professionals. At the end of the six weeks they put their skills to the test in an authentic dancing competition with professional judges.moreless
This show makes me wanna get up and dance! Since becoming a viewer of Ballroom Bootcamp I find myself desiring to learn choreography once again and have even decided that it's about time I learn the cha-cha! I love watching the transformation that takes place in each of the dance students. It offers people like myself who have always found dancing a beautiful form of art hope that they too can be a dancing star. After watching an episode where a stiff legged tomboy became a ballroom sensation (and bellydancer) by the end I was hooked! Hopefully someday I too can be as good as the instant dance stars on this show.moreless
Every step they take is so much more than a dance step; it's a step toward a new and more confident self! I know if I could participate in this show, I might be able to break out of my shell and live a little. I mean, my other favorite show is about dirty rats--that's gotta tell you something about my self-esteem, right?
Anyway...I can't get enough of Ballroom Bootcamp!!
I really enjoy watching this program. It is enjoyable to watch people going from two left feet to graceful dancers. I love the way that learning to ballroom dance makes people deal with issues deeper that just being a klutz and ends up helping them in the long run. The coaches are great. All of the Coaches bring their own unique ways of teaching as well as different personalities. Susannah Cuesta brings an elegance to the show and her kind but firm teaching method along with her use of props help to bring out the best in her students. Gocha Chertkoev demands for his students to give it their all and in return he is able to transform even the worst dancers into winners. Christian Perry helps his students do their best by often taking them to do a sport they enjoy for conditioning or when they are feeling down to give them a better chance at sucsess.I have very much enjoyed this show.moreless
This show is not well known and probably won't be. While it is obviously trying to capitalize on the hype created by the various ballroom dancing movies and tv shows this summer, (not to forget Matt Leinart!), it still has some originality. I love watching people dance, and in this show you get to see a lot of it. I believe that if you really want to appreciate this show, you have to have a basic understanding of ballroom dance, which is why it is struggling. The story line in the first episode seemed rather contrived, as it made it seem as though doing a dance for a few weeks would change your life. I get the feeling that these changes were scripted out carefully. Go ahead and give this show a try if you enjoy dancing, or want to watch hot guys dance. However, it probably won't be extended to a new season, and it isn't really all that great.moreless
someone please stop the idiocy. Or, in the words of the maven of yesteryear, Susan Powter, STOP THE INSANITY! What is the point of shows like these. It's shocking. It's such blight to the human race. I'm not writer, but certainly there must be brains out there that can come up with something more original. Even the yule log was more original. I think I'll pitch a show about men sitting in bathroom stalls and chatting about the greatest B.M.'s they've ever had... moreless
